I hate that about the NFL. Every season, some team goes and picks up a bunch of highly touted free agents and revamp their entire team around that free agency while spending tens of millions of dollars, then the experts are all over them about how great they'll be with their new additions like the Jets this season. Just because TT doesn't go out and spend a bijillion dollars on a guy like Bernard Berrian doesn't mean he doesn't know how to build a team.

How many zeros are in a bijillion?

Screw Al Harris, I could care less if that overrated fraud ever suits up for the Packers ever again.

Wow.....

I cant wait to see a nickle package with Williams and Woodson at CB, and with Harris in the slot.

When Al Harris is healthy, he is one of the best in the league, no doubt about it. Anybody who thinks differently is kidding themselves.

Al Harris is probably one of the worst 1 on 1 cover corners in the league, and yet there has been this illusion for the last few years that he his so phenomenal. He absolutely gets lit up 1 on 1, especially in big games which costs the packers big time.

he may be getting older...but he is far from getting "absolutely getting lit up 1 on 1"

I remember having this same argument last year and someone posted that link as proof. Do you know what I saw when I clicked on it? The same quotes. For all we know those are from 2005 or 2006, back when Al Harris was one of the best in the league. I'm sure I can find quotes about Ronnie Lott being amazing as well, but that doesn't mean it's relevant to right now.

Ricky Rubio will be a Pamela Anderson sized bust.

Pickett was a good signing. Chillar is starting give some meaningful contribution.

Pickett was a tremendously more important signing than Woodson. Woodson's good, sure, but Pickett is the reason the D turned around.

Pickett is a very underrated signing, and his impact has been huge, but to say he's been tremendously more important than Woodson might be a little much. No matter how good the rest of the defense got, throwing the ball in Ahmad Carroll's general area was a sure first down. I wish I was exaggerating.

I don't know. If i am building a team I would go in this order.

1 qb
2 Elite DT
3 Elite LT
4 Elite Safety
5 Center
6 DE
7 Corner
8 running back

I'd agree with the top part of what you put, but you could make it a little more clear by doing this:

1. QB
2. DT

3. LT

Truthfully, the DT is the most important player on a team that runs a 43 other than its QB. You rarely, if ever see a good run-defense team without a good DT, and you rarely, if ever, see a poor run-defense team with a good DT. That's why Cleveland went so hard for Shaun Rodgers--he can single handedly clog things up in the middle.

Saying Carroll was bad is true, but you could have put pretty much anyone there and it would have been an improvement. On the other hand, the Packers found Pickett--a clogging DT--on the Free Agent market, which is a ridiculous amount more valuable than a great 2nd Corner.

And about Harris being bad--that's ridiculous. Harris is not elite, and he's going to get burned from time to time. But he also has done a pretty nice job in a few games as well. Just because he's not a playmaker, it doesn't mean he's bad. While he was burned by TO and Plaxico last year, I do remember him completely dominating Roy Williams (a guy who I consider as good as both) last year as well.

Its just a style thing. When he faces the guys who aren't good at getting off the line, he's going to have his total way with them. When he faces the stronger guys, at his age, he's gonna get barnt a little bit. But that doesn't mean he's "bad."

According to Urban Dictionary: A very huge number, bigger than a million, a billion and the two multiplied together.

That's funny...a bijillion is only a zero or two short of my IQ.[:-][:-][:-]
