Whew, that was a tough one for the Red Wings. I knew the Ducks were an outstanding team. They did a great job shutting down some of the Wings key players. Their goalie played outstanding also.

Also fun series when there's some nastyness involved, but I knew Lidstrom would help keep the team from getting to emotional & off their game. This rival with Pronger goes back years when he played for St. Louis.

Always a tough task when trying to defend your title. Long road continues against Chicago, who will be coming out firing non-stop on all cylinders.

So do you think Chicago will be able to get under the Wings' skin and throw them off their game. They've been doing a pretty good job of it through the first two rounds. But because I hate the Red Wings and like the Blackhawks I will definitely be cheering for the Hawks to make it the the Cup this year.

Detroit needs to come out in game 1 and set the tone. Score early and often.

Go wings!

These are just my thoughts- as a Red Wings fan (caution, may be biased []). I can see some of the younger players getting thrown off their game, but not the veterans. Am hoping the veterans will keep their younger teammates in check. I know the Red Wings pride themselves in a lot of areas, and one of them involves playing disciplined and keeping a level head.

One area I'm concerned about (just speaking as a fan) is the Wings going into the 3rd period with a 1-2 goal lead. What they usually would do (going back to Scottie Bowman) was go into a defensive shell. Kind of like the pass prevent in football. This has always scared the crap out of me because this is where the opponents really bring it, and I honestly don't think the Wings have the defensive depth like they did those other Stanley Cup years.

Chicago will definately "bring it"- especially late in the game.

Hopefully my trivia history isn't wrong. Last time Chicago made it to the Stanley Cup Finals was against...... Pittsburgh. The Penguins were coached by "Badger Bob" Johnson.

Not many NHL/hockey fans here in Wisconsin? [>:] I know in the winter time hockey takes a backseat to basketball and wrestling. But wanted to say I really think Chicago has bright future ahead of them.

Just tweak a few areas and they should have an exciting club for the next few years. Should be a good Stanley Cup finals.
