I just want to get your guys comments on the new football conference next yr. It is going to be a damn good one. But I thought both of our conferences were pretty good to start.

i assume you mean the large divison will be the good one with Wtown, Chilton, Valders, Mishicot, Sturgeon Bay, Southern Door, Kewauneem and Oconto. The small will be pretty weak with the exception of Hilbert and Brillion.

Its clear that the Large division is above and beyond the small. The small does have some good teams. Brillion should still be ok. Hilbert is still good, but with their enrollment going down and Moreau leaving soon they could drop way off. Lutheran is good this year, but will graduate a veteran team so who knows how they will turn out. The Large schools have a tradition of winning and have built solid programs that will keep them strong every year. Personally i dont really like combining for one sport out of the year. I think it would have been just fine with Roncalli making 10 and not having a N/C game but they wanted to make changes and they did.

not all big schools are better..But with some of the schools in the olympian..EVERY school is better then they are regardless of size

yeah for right now... everyone is one demensional on this subject. you look in the early to mid ninty's different teams on top, like Reedsville 3 conference championships in a row '92-'94 as an example. Mishicot pretty darn good in 04' goes in paterns... just trying to make a point, and these are smaller schools. Even though Mishicot is getting moved into the large conference.

It must be a long pattern because for a very long time now the same teams are always on the top. Mishicot had 2 good years but other than that they have always been a bottom feeder. Reedsville had their glory years in the early 90's and havent been in the playoffs since. If you look at the teams in the large and small. It's just a fact that the large division has better football programs.

The bigger schools should be better..... They SIMPLY have more to choose from!!!!!! If they arent better somethign is wrong.

That's just a cop-out. How do you explain Hilbert in the OC or Roncalli basketball in the EWC? I'm sure there are other examples out there. It comes down to how hard you want to work at something and how much pride you have as athletes.

Ya Id rather not make this big change and break up the teams from the original olympian conference. I would still like to have the old OC together. Freedom and Denmark would be great to have back. That would really make for a great football schedule for us. Eliminate SMC and Lutheran and add Denmark and Freedom then play Chilton and Kewaunee like we used to. Dang that would a fun schedule. Tough, but fun.

Getting to play Sturgeon Bay, Southern Door, Oconto, and Southern Door is still kind of exciting i guess since we dont ever get to play them unless its in the playoffs.

You know what would be cool? If we could keep the current Olympian conference together for football and have Roncalli join the Packerland teams that we're suppose to be combining with. That way we'd get to keep all those great rivalry games that we'll be missing out on next year. Obviously this isn't going to happen though[&o]
