I was thinking for a bit today about the next generation of actors. Now that people like Nicholson, Damon, Will Smith, Pacino, De Niro, Pitt, Clooney, Denzel, Freeman, Wahlberg, Cage, Julia Roberts, Angelina Jolie, Spacey, Williams, Ferrell, Jackson, Norton Jr, Stiller, Sandler, etc. could probably name another 25 actors, have been around a while and are starting to hit the time in there careers to start slowing down., especially with a lot of them becoming producers/directors. Granted all of these people listed are not great actors, who are some upcoming actors in there late teens to late 20's early 30's, that you think will be good to great actors?

For me personally, I really like actors like Elijah Wood, Chris Evans, Paul Dano, James Franco, Jake Gyllenhaal, Emil Hirsch, Jim Sturgess, Ben Foster, Jamie Bell, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Ryan Gosling. I believe these actors will keep/start producing solid performances for years to come.

Actors/Actressess I like although they will never be really great actors, more comedic actors, Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill, Justin Long, Paul Rudd, Sean William Scott, Justin Timberlake, Anna Farris, Emily Stone and Charlene Yi.

Actors I am not sold on but have potential. Chris Pine, Shia LeBouf, and Daniel Radcliffe.

Actors/actresses I wish would stay off the big screen; Channing Tatum, Hayden Christensen, Ellen Page, Zac Effron, 99% of rappers turned actors.

Actors I think I will become sick: Michael Cera and Jessie Eisenberg.

I probably missed a lot of people, and I have probably have people on my list that y'all would think otherwise. What are some your thoughts?

He should stay off of any screen period.

I know that you listed them as established actors but I have to say, George Clooney and Brad Pitt have this stuff figured out.

They made the Oceans movies great (along with some other great actors) but then the movie Burn After Reading was amazing and funny. And I just saw Inglorious Basterds and it's freakin' brilliant. Those two guys are seriously taking the business over, right now, it seems.

Saoirse Ronan is probably one of the better actresses under 30. She is only 15 and was nominated for "Atonement" a couple years ago. She plays the lead in "The Lovely Bones" and has the potential to have a career similar to Streep, Winslet and Blanchett.

Really? I love the guy, but has he shown an ability to play anyone other than a shy, awkward high schooler?

Nope. He is doing the same thing Will Ferrell is doing. They just find a character that a section of the population likes and they beat it to death. I love Will Ferrell but he needs to expand a little.

Up in the Air was great too. It looks like its set to get some awards as well.

You want the next generation? Here's someone that just might be able to fit in it:

By the way this is a guy I went to high school with. He was pretty good at acting when he was still in high school.

Okay, lets change it to "Next generation of GREAT actors..."

This guy played a "Beach-Goer" on some show on FOX and that is his biggest role. His hobbies include "Certified Coffee Barista," "Runway Modeling," and some singing ability. You can throw a rock into an alley in Los Angeles and hit a hobo with the same resume.

He's only 18 though and his career only started recently. Give him time it takes small roles like these to be noticed first.

The thing is, a lot of the actors you are calling "up and coming" have been around for 10 or more years already. Seann William Scott, Justin Long, Elijah Wood, Jake Gyllenhaal, those are established names. Hell the last two were in Back to the Future II and City Slickers, respectively. That's not up and coming anymore.

If you want actors that are truly up and coming they should have 8 or fewer films to their name and 5 or less years of experience.

Try Jaden Smith and Logan Lerman.
Ricky Rubio will be a Pamela Anderson sized bust.
