What did you guys answer for the area of grass between the sidewalk and curb?

I've never known a name for that...

I got Madison, Milwaukee and Rockford.

I have no name for the grass between the sidewalk and curb. And the grass separating two lanes of traffic is a median.

We call it the tree terrace here (grass between sidewalk and curb).

We always just considered it part of our yard. My wife and her family call it a tree bank.

I got: "nytimes.com is not responding due to a long responding script." Then I got Madison, Rockford, Milwaukee. And the grass area is called a median.

I usually refer to that area as a "tree boarder".
