Did the Badgers accept the Capitol One Bid so soon to cover for the BCS blunder that doesn't allow three teams from the same conf. into a BCS bowl? Just a thought, but it seems too soon to me, I didn't think they accepted the bid last year until Dec. something. I don't think it is unrealistic for the badgers to be ranked in the top 5 teams before bowl games with some other loses in the nation. Why not wait and see what happens and force the issue with the BCS?

The rule clearly states that three teams from the conf. cannot go to a BCS bowl. Thus, there is no way this season that the Badgers could play in the BCS. They may change the rule after the season, but they are not going to change it just to accompany the Badgers. You could argue that Florida, Arkansas, and LSU are deserving of a BCS game too. So its not just Wisconsin.

there is a rule that clearly states that the top 4 teams are guranteed a spot in the bcs.

Yes, but from what i have read, the rule that no more than two teams can make a BCS bowl per conf. overules that rule.

Where is this rule? I am looking at the selection procedure on the bcsfootball.org website and I do not see this top 4 rule anywhere. Is there information somewhere else?

Its looking like Wisconsin has a VERY good chance of being top 4....pretty much guranteed top 5 and 4 if Arkansas beats Florida. So maybe that top 4 GURANTEED a BCS bowl rule will cause trouble. Any thoughts?

I think Wisconsin will be 7. I can see LSU and Louisville jumping ahead of them and West Virginia, Arkansas and Notre Dame falling behind.

The badgers arent the only team that accepted a bowl bid.... every big ten team that was bowl eligible beside michigan and ohio state, all accepted their bowl bids pretty much all the same day, including the badgers. That to me right there puts the kabosh on this whole conspiracy theory. Every big ten team had their set bowl, and they all accepted where they were and accepted their bid.
