Whatta ya mean he hasn't done anything productive, NIT after NIT, one championship one runner up. Hes building a solid resume there. Note: complete sarcasm

I know 1000 points isn't as big of accomplishment in D1 basketball but in his 6 years he coach 6 1000 point scoreres and still couldn't make the NCAA tourney

It was def. time, for Amaker to get the boot, maybe they should bring Brian Ellerbe back...ha prolly not.

ESPN had a list of candidates, those include Tony Bennett, Steve Lavin, Rick Majerus, possibly Tubby Smith, and some others including West Virginia's coach and SIU's

Dammit, time to add Michigan to the list of sleeper Big Ten teams.
You are not smarter than your favorite team's upper management, so stop trying to be.

I could see them trying to get Bulter's coach Todd Lickliter or Nevada's Mark Fox those are two names who I could see coaching Michigan, I dont think it will be someone who is not coaching right now.
http://chuckcorner.blogspot.com- Please Comment, I finally am starting to work on this on a consistant basis. Would love to hear your thoughts.

I agree with Chuckles...it will be a current coach most likely from a successful mid-major program. Add Jim Whitesell from Loyola (IL) to the list. His name was mentioned this year as a possible replacement for Monson at Minnesota. However, his Loyola team didn't make the NCAA tourney this year, so he may be stretch then for consideration. Butler/Lickliter did make the NCAA tourney and continues to roll into the Sweet 16 and Nevada/Fox may also do the same tomorrow.

Programs like "hot" coaching prospects. Kent State's Stan Heath who took the Golden Flashes to the Elite 8 several years ago hit the jackpot by accepting the job at Arkansas that same year replacing Nolan Richardson; Bruce Pearl from Milwaukee to Tennessee; Bill Self from Tulsa to Illinois, then to Kansas, and the list goes on. Let the coaching sweepstakes begin...

I go to a DIII school in Iowa, our mens basketball coach is really good friends with Todd Lickliter and a friend of mine on the team actually told me a few weeks back that our coach might not be back because if Lickliter gets either the Minnesota or Michigan Job (assuming Amaker was fired or Molinari isn't hired) he would try and go to his staff.
So i sense Lickliter must have some interest in heading to Michigan, the question is does Michigan have interest in him.
