It is also rumored that Miles Hookstead of Whitewater high school who was heavily recruited by D1 and D2 schools for football will also go to Dubuque because of the new head coach and he is going to play basketball as well. A great recruit for a DIII school.

That is a fact.

I think he was talking about at UW-RF

But while he may not have gotten a "fair" shot at the UW-W program, he can flat out coach and produce (there isn't any questioning that) its just a fact.

But Lance's resume was fairly solid when he was named and I think that speaks for itself as well. Plus Z didn't get alone with Kachel and had enough people against him in WW because of the way he had acted and conducted himself so its not that he "got screwed" it was a combination of factors on why Lance is the head coach (and has produced) and Z isn't (and didn't get the chance to produce)

Lance has produced with players recruited by Zweifel and Berezowitz. It will be interesting to see how he does starting this year but more so in the next few years. I think your average highschool coach could have taken the team Liepold had in his first season to the championship. It was largely recruited and coached by Z

oh really? Lance had all 6 of those seniors this year to work with and almost won a national championship with them...a lot of players who came in or had a big role on the team this year were underclassmen who Lance had a hand in getting...and I don't think that the highly touted WW defensive players came to WW for Z...sure some of the offensive guys came to play in his offense...but don't think for a second they weren't coming to play for Berezowitz...he's the reason 90% of those guys were coming to WW...

I Talked to Michael about this and he said he already knew he was transfereing and the only reason he did not transfere at the semester was because ending datse between River Falls and Debuque are different during semesters and thats why he "left ogrady to dry" honeslty dont say bad things about a great kid untill you know your facts....

So you're saying that even though he knew he was transferring before the 2nd semester, he got up in front of his teammates and told them all that he would be returning to play for UWRF in the fall of 2009. That could be construed as being dishonest and you believe that makes him a "great kid"?

It would be one thing if he really was conflicted about playing for his father or staying with UWRF, and after much soul searching he decided that getting his degree and avoiding the debt that can go along with it, the best choice was to transfer to Dubuque. No one should argue that decision. However, if he knew he would be transferring shortly after his father got the job, that's a whole different matter.

While I made my feelings clear in an earlier post, the following correction of misinformation is not clouded by bias. (1) Stan Z was offered and verbally accepted the OC job at UWRF in late July, 2007. (I believe he signed a contract to that effect as well). In August, he resigned to accept the AD job at Beloit Memorial, approximately two weeks before the start of summer camp at UWRF.
(2) Semester I ended at UWRF around December 22, and Semester II started very late on January 26.

Tercel you are more right than the previous poster.
If I remember correctly after he did NOT get the UW-W job (and made a huge scene) he turned down the chance to the their OC (yes he was offered that job from what I know, but didn't want it)
Took the AD job at Beloit Memorial
Took the OC job at River Falls (then you're right, resigned right before the season)... BUT
To become the OC at Mankato State Minn.
Then took the head job at Debuque

New coordinator looks to bring balance to MSU's offense

Dubuque could have a scary team in the next few years...with some of the Milwaukee area recruits, and some of these transfers that they are getting in, I hear the TE from Whitewater HS is a beast!

This is what I said. Liepold is winning with players recruited by Zweifel and Berezowitz. It will be interesting to see how Liepold does in the coming years. Right now they are still bringing in players because of the recent history of the WW football program. Several of the current underclassmen would have also been recruited by Berezowitz and Zweifel.

I understand that but I thought you were making the point these players were strictly coming to play because of Z...which isn't true...and I don't really understand the last statement...of course if the players are talented enough, a lot of people are going to scout them...or are you trying to imply that they would have came to WW for Z as well...thats just what I think you are trying to say...IDK...Z rubbed me the wrong way and I don't like someone who jumps around and can't stay true to their word...I know people feel that he got "robbed" of a job in WW or didn't get a fair shake but I guess I see things differently and I think you are seeing the character he would have brought to the program with the way he threw a hissy fit when he left WW...the way he was jumping from position to position with new jobs and new coaching positions...I'll admit I don't like the guy...but even a neutral fan will tell you people are giving him too much credit for WW's success since he has left...

Is anyone excited at the possibility of seeing a home/home with UWW and Dubuque?

Dubuque has had great talent in the past. D1 talent and still havent finished better than the middle of the pack. The conference is dominated by Wartburg and usually central. (except for the down year this year) The problem with UD is that they have had so much talent and no chemistry. The have always rather fight with each other than fight against the other team. So they will still be treat with respect due to their talent but until they can pull it all together (which im sure Coach Z can do) not many people are going to get fired up in the conference.
On any given day.. anything can happen.
Luther College Norse will rise again.
