McCarthy has to be done at the end of this season and I hope our new HC is someone from outside the organization. The culture of this team needs to change.

I believe Pettine is the right guy to run the defense, but I would prefer he stay at DC. In today's NFL, offense wins. The teams that are winning are typically the aggressors on offense and have an offensive minded HC (Sean Payton, Sean McVay, Andy Reid, Doug Pedersen).

Bring in some flavor to rid the years of stale vanilla that has been the McCarthy led offenses. Keep drafting defensive playmakers and craft a new offense around your first ballot HOF QB and exciting young pieces.

Pain heals. Chicks dig scars. Glory, lasts forever.

Hell no !!!... Please no  4 letter network nonsense

If your going to be serious to me the answer is Jim Harbaugh , has the resume to bring actual chutzspa to the lockeroom .

I like the young talent on the team but the dead weight guys need to go .

I also like Mike Pettine .

Had a bit of a Twitter thread going after the game yesterday. Here are some of the highlights.

-Looking at the Packers schedule, there are only 2-3 "should wins" left. This likely leaves you dead last in a division that looks to be average at best...with a QB #1 that will likely play all year. OUCH.

-It's hard to pinpoint where it all went wrong for McCarthy, but the best I can come up with is a system that not only refused to go get outside players, but one that constantly promoted coaches/personnel from within.

-In theory, if your system is top notch, this should work...but the system was never that. Instead an "incest of ideas" was fostered and recycled (hence the word "stale" getting tossed around ad nauseum). No new thought or viewpoint needed. McCarthy's got this.

...except he doesn't got this. Every McCarthy assistant who left ended up stinking up the joint in their new job. They finally went outside the organization with Pettine, but you know who the "new" OC is, right? Joe Philbin. MM didn't want new ideas, he wanted a yes man.

-I know "fire the coach" is the rallying cry of the lunchpail crowd, but ask yourself this: Do you at any point in the future see a Mike McCarthy-led Packers team winning it all? That can't possibly feel like a winning bet to most.

-Oh man, we're now clinging to the Rodgers is still better than Brady trope? I mean, yeah, he is, but Brady will always be better remembered, probably because his organization gave two craps about winning, not building some insular football wonderland tourist trap.

BTW, since 2016 the Packers have as many wins as the Redskins, and less than the Lions, Titans and Dolphins. Sure, Rodgers missed some time, but nearly every other team in this league can at least function with their backup QB (see the teams in last year's NFC title game or the Super Bowl Champs for instance)...and most certainly win more when their all-pro signal caller is playing.

People look at McCarthy and all kinds of angst comes to mind. Plus the name calling. When I look at him, all I think is...

Did Brady ever get a delay of game penalty on a 1st and goal from the 9 because he was tying his shoe?
Rodgers did!
Sums this whole mess in a nutshell.

Last nights excuse?
You can only muster 17 pts on offense and blame injuries on defense.

I didn't see any of the 2nd half.
No interest in this team at all.

Like Chris Collinsworth said... When you have the resume of Coach Mike your not usually on the hot seat but when you have AR / media-fan expectations you are .

Not sure any coach could win with this roster but if your going to blow it up I say Brian Kelly / Jim Harbaugh for cutting / rebuild .

Packers are right where the available talent says it should be , I dont know how one blames the coach without clearing out the entire front office .
No other coach would win with this roster .

I coached for about 25 seasons.
I learned a lesson or 2 during that time.

1 was "big time players make big time plays in big games!"

On this roster, who you got?

3 guys?
3.5?
Thanks TT, this cupboard is bare!

kenny78 can now direct all questions about "well who would you hire if you fire McCarthy" to Brian Gutekunst and Mark Murphy (the pervasive thought out there is that this was his call).

I wonder who would want this job.
Seriously, not very many elite players and a backstabbing, aging diva at QB.
