The Mountain West is looking mighty good in bowl season so far, with middle-of-the-road Wyoming winning and then Utah and BYU both knocking off Pac-10 opponents.

Air Force is currently curb-stomping Houston 21-3 late in the 2nd quarter and is driving again for another score.

I know after last year and Utah going 13-0 they were lobbying to be included in the BCS Conference circle and get an automatic bid to a a BCS bowl game. The BCS said they needed to show more balance. Well if Air Force hangs on that will make them 4-0 with only Boise State-TCU left. I think an undefeated bowl season can be cause for them to be in the discussion with some of the BCS Conferences.

agreed with everything you said....I really hope the BCS gets their head out of the sand on this issue after this season.

Best bet, in my opinion, would be to re-do the MWC and WAC into an upper and lower tier.

Put Fresno State, Boise State, TCU, Utah, BYU, and 5 other schools in one of them, and the rest in another. Guaranteed BCS AQ-conference with those teams in it as most of them are ranked every year.
The Brewers will finish 90-72 and earn the #1 WC berth.

Carlos Gomez will have a 30/40 season (HR/SB) and win a 2nd Gold Glove en route to an All Star selection.

Bruce Feldman said today that TCU's opponents were 6-0 in Bowl Games.

I'd be okay with the Mountain West being an automatic qualifying conference.

Rose- BigTen vs Pac-10
Sugar- SEC vs At-Large
Orange- ACC vs Big East
Fiesta- Big12 vs Mountain West
National Championship- #1 vs #2.
A Playoff will not be any more fair than the BCS.
No matter what happens, Favre > Rodgers.
St. Louis Cardinals = Class of MLB.
Carlos Gomez is the new Nyjer Morgan.....

I never thought of it like that, but I agree with it completey. 9 teams in the upper tier and 9 teams in the lower tier. Judging by past records and success I would have to put TCU, Utah, BYU, Air Force, Boise State, Fresno State, Nevada, Hawaii and one other team from either conference in the upper, probably a Colorado State. Then in the lower tier you'll have Wyoming, UNLV, New Mexico, San Diego State along with Idaho, Louisiana Tech, Utah State, New Mexico State and San Jose State.

Regardless if that ever happened or not, I still believe that the Mountain West deserves to be a AQ Conference. They will go 5-0 this bowl season.

everything I've read in here is friggin amazingly true and I wish the BCS was as open minded as this...obviously IDK how everything would go down...but I agree with the combinging of the conferences that makes the most sense to me and gives the teams that have earned it (TCU, Boise, Utah, BYU etc) to get in and those that haven't or those that are not really on the level of other top tier or even mid tier D1 teams should not be allowed in automatically as long as the BCS is still in place...hopefully...theres a playoff system soon and we don't have to worry about this

They basically are guaranteed a BCS bowl berth... If a team is in the top 16 of the BCS then they are guaranteed a spot.... The way its set up now is fine.... that way if the conference has a down year then no team makes it.... the only problem i have now is the revenue sharing with these teams... they have to split all their revenue with all the other non-bcs schools which is BS!!

Why should any conference get an AQ then? The ACC has had some bad years recently, when everyone involved would have been better off if there was no ACC team in a BCS game. Why punish a conference which, in all honesty, has been better the past 6 years that the ACC has?
