Although it appears Berger called the dogs off in the 4th, that's just painful.` I feel for ML in that situation if you're frustrated. And if you're Dominican, what do you have to prove after the half? Anyone attend? Anyone have the in on this game?

I can't believe that Dominican would even schedule a game like this. It's not like they don't have a feel for the kind of game it would likely be.

Not that they have a choice, really, since it's conference, but still, that's rough. RSC is the only school to hold close with Dominican.

Like whfan said, it's a conference game. Not much you can do about it. Do you tell Dominicans subs, who might not get a lot of playing time, to not play their best in the 3rd or 4th quarter?

No, of course I wouldn't. Maybe they did the old pass until you get a bunny shot. Must have worked wonders, especially in the 3rd.

ML isn't even that bad of a team, but they are relatively young, and will probably be toward the bottom of what is a very competitive conference...if you exclude Dominican. They are just on another level with what they can throw at you...even beyond Diamond.

It's not just a Dominican thing. On my first search of last Friday's games I found this score.

http://www.wissports.net/game/show/8205220?subseason=182849&referrer=1382141

It happens and unless we are going to turn WIAA regulated competitions into Park & Rec games it will continue to happen.

I did not realize it was a conference game. Probably should have looked at the conference makeup before I made my post. Thanks for pointing that out. It just looks bad for everyone no matter how the coach plays it.

If everyone scored, and from the line score, it looks to me like that is what happened, then it is what it is. As was stated, you can't send seconds in and say "run the four corners." I am sure that Dominican's subs get plenty of minutes where they are told to do that, so I have no problem with this.

It happens in girls hoops as well

Why is this even a thread? Milwaukee Academy of Science pounded Faith Christian 90-13 on the 12th yet there was no thread on that. What, exactly, was Dominican supposed to do as Coach Berger had everyone play?

Dominicans JV beat ML JV 63-34. Dominicans coach didn't even start his best player as he missed Friday practice. He also pulled his three top players w/5 minutes left and told the team to swing the ball vs scoring.

Maybe one of Dominicans guards should have stood just over the half-court line and done a half-time dribbling show? That's not embarrassing or anything.

On paper this was a mismatch for Martin Luther and the final score showed. Kinda unavoidable when you look at it in hindsight. Martin Luther is trying to build their program into a solid team in the Metro Classic which is not an easy task.

Regarding MAS vs Faith Christian, it's one of those instances where there it is two teams (and I know I'll get some heat for this) that are lesser calibur especially in Faith Christian's (Indian Trails) situation.

Kinda harkens back to when everyone was up in arms when Milwaukee North nearly beat Stockridge by 100 a few years back.

Didn't Faith Christian beat MAS a few years ago? Or come close? May be a "legacy" game schedule-wise...meaning scheduled when FC was a more competitive program, which they have been for the better part of the last decade.

Quickly looking back a few years I didn't see MAS getting beaten by Faith Christian but all the games were pretty close (within 10 points) so I think you're probably right about it being one of those situations where the teams have had competitive games in the past so they continue scheduling each other and then one team is just way better than the other.

And amped I was looking back at Milwaukee North's results from a couple of years ago and found this game where they beat Saint Anthony by 121

Martin Luther is doing the best they can. They need a couple more players and they can compete with teams in the metro conference. If kids want a great education and play for a players coach who was a former all state player at Dominican and Iowa Juco player of the year go there. If you gave Coach Bob Overland the talent that teams like Case and Dominican have they would beat teams like King and Riverside. Great teacher of the game and he cares about kids.
