I am still all pumped up from the game and it has been almost 24 hours. The atmosphere was awesome, somewhat comparable to a college game. Anyone see the fireworks after the game? That was pretty cool too. They were out in the country but if you drove on Hwy 97 you could have seen them around 10:30. I have to compliment the fans or at least the ones around me for keeping things under control. What a great high school football game! If any of the players read this, thanks for providing some great Friday night entertainment.

There has been talk of building a new field out by the senior high, but in this day and age of tight budgets, I do not think you will see it happen. Possibly with private funding?

There has also been talk of extending the stands up and back. On the East side that would be OK, but on the West it would hang over the track. I am not sure how it would work architecturally.

Just a quick word from a neutral party.

First, this was my very first Marsh-DCE game at Marshfield. For one of the states top programs, that stadium is an embarassment. I have been at 100-150 stadiums in the last 7 years and that by far is the worse, most fan unfriendly, of any D I or II stadium I have seen. Anytime that the home side does not have enough seats to seat their fans is a shame. The fans are too close to the sidelines, proper coaching is difficult to achieve. The field itself looked great, and was in great condition from what I saw...that's a positive considering the lack of rain this last summer.

As for the game, I spent the first half on the Marshfield side talking to their fans and the second half on DCE side talking to their. Turnovers obviously the key and the lack of ability on the DCE offensive line to block anybody. Marshfield had a great Defensive game plan, blitz the run gaps and play two over the top on the outside. Everest lack of execution to the middle of the field was their downfall. The Marshfield fans seemed a little surprised at the halftime score. The inexperienced Marshfield QB looked more poised than he did the week before at SPASH. As the game wore on I thought the TIger offense took a conservative approach which was due to the score, obviously.

I learned the second half that the Everest center had cartilege damage in his thumb, so the shotgun was not available, he had to snap with his left hand. The Everest offensive line was very mediocre, probably the poorest I have seen from them in the last 7 years. Everest also never attacked the middle of the field, their play calling seemed very elementary with no imagination. I really thought a crossing pattern by 19 or 2 would have been effective.

Overall it was a very physical game and one I enjoyed watching. A note for the future, Everest has 7 sophomores on the Varsity roster, and they won the sophomore game on Thursday 40 something to 14 without those 7 players.....This may be a re building year at Everest.

Great game? Are you crazy? Marshfield handed it to DC Everest. I expected Everest to kick it outta Marhsfield, and the exact opposite happened. With all the turnovers commited by DC, it was sorta bad to watch. I expected a much better game than what really played out.

Yes, I suppose it did get boring in the 2nd half. I guess by it being a great game it was the shock of the score to me. I expected the score to be close too. It was more of a shock I guess than an actual great game.
