I brought this up in an EVC conference thread and see it now popping up in the D1 Sect 4 post.

What are the pros and cons of a neutral site hosting the half bracket or full bracket sectional quarter or semi finals all at one site on the same day?

As an example this year in D2 Sect 2 you have WSN ranked #2 Seymour, #5 West DePere, #6 Ashwaubenon, #9 Pulaski and then others getting votes in the AP, Kaukauna and Xavier all in the same half bracket. Only 1 of those teams is going to make State. How great would it be to go to the Resch center on 1 day and see the 4 quarterfinal games of this half bracket or the quarterfinal of the full bracket and then see the semifinals the next day.

Location and travel could be a concern.

Host facility availability could be a concern.

Being able to see 4 games in 1 day and 2 the next day is a huge plus. It's like a showcase of the regions better teams.

Economics don't work very well. Have to pay to rent facility, and then some facilities want to keep all the concessions as well. Schools that host would lose a significant amount of money. WIAA would prefer to keep the money in the schools than pay to have at larger facility that may or may not bring in more fans.

Many of those kinds of locations either stopped showing interest in hosting or got too expensive.
