Interesting new development out of Kansas City. I have a lot of family in Nebraska and Kansas and they are all Chiefs fans. Apparently, for the last few weeks there's been a petition going around to release Larry Johnson so he doesn't get the all-time leading rushing record for the Chiefs. Priest Holmes currently holds the record. Johnson was only like 40 yards short of the record or something close to that and the fans got their wish. They really started hating him over the last year and never wanted him to get the record. Congrats to Priest Holmes for holding onto the record. He definitely deserves it over LJ.

On another note, just another case of how far off a RB in the NFL can fall in a matter of just a few years. Three or so years ago, he was the unanimous #1 or #2 pick in every single fantasy draft. Now? He's a has-been.

yeah being in Nebraska its kind of a big deal but people kind of gave up on KC a while ago anyways...from what I understand or my take on it...this was a PR move by the team for the fans more then a football type move...this shows the fans that the team is listening to them and LJ was not going to stop with the negative behavior...I don't like him and never really did...glad to see him get this treatment which was self induced...it was 70 yards I am pretty sure from the record but I am glad Priest keeps it

Lincoln should get an NFL team.

This couldn't have happened to a more deserving individual. Glad to see the Chiefs let him go.
Knowledge is good.

If he was leading the NFL in rushing on a playoff bound KC he would still be there regardless of his suppposed scumbag rep .

Unfortunately it's the Tom Osborne Huskers they are still in love with. Maybe next year.

Larry Johnson is a me first guy. What a scum bag. Growing up in the River Falls area we got to go see the Chiefs practice all the time. That area of wisconsin has a lot of chiefs fans. Larry Johnson is a poor character guy who doesn't deserve any accolades in the NFL.

Well, the Bengals are willing to give L.J. a second chance on [link=http://www.espn.com/]www.espn.com[/link].

Supposedly Bengals, Philly and Atlanta all had interest and with injury to Benson Cincy moved first. Benson turned out to be a pretty good reclamation project but think Johnson might prove tougher to rehab.

yet if you ask Marvin Lewis this was decided on before the injury...I don't believe him one bit...I believe there may have been discussions...but there was no decision made until after Benson was hurt...I don't believe that BS

Some guy at the Husker/KU game was running around yelling, "Tom Osborne is a Child Molester"

it was pretty hilarious
