I would have posted this on the Bears/Vikings thread but it got locked up...

Orton reallistically should have had 5 touchdown passes against the Vikings, two Booker dropped in the end zone and they kicked field goals right after, and another Clark pulled a Desean jackson and Rashied Davis recovered in the end zone. Add those to the two he had and Orton had an outstanding day on Sunday... I'm starting to believe the radio announcer I heard say that Orton would be in Hawaii at the end of the season.

First of all, thats what you get when your #1 WR is Marty Booker. Second, as a bears fan, i think that kyle orton is 100x better than grossman. Orton has made everyone forget the sexy rexy is even still in town. he deserves some recognition, but i don't see him in hawaii at the end of the year

Right now I would vote Orton in as a Pro bowler.

I got Brees...Roders...Orton (In no order)

Matt Leinart should take lessons from Kyle Orton on how maturing as a person can have a positive effect on your career.

As much as I love what Orton has done this far with the Bears, it would be hard to put him in as a Pro Bowler right now. In the NFC you have Brees, Warner, Campbell, and Romo having better years statiscally then Orton. With that said you can also flip a coin between Rodgers and Orton on who is more deserving at this point. Its a long season and I'm very pleased with his development as a QB. He isn't flashy, but he makes plays.

I agree DB, Matt Leinart should take note.

How did Orton lose the job the first time? I thought I remembered him playing pretty well when he started last time? Did he get hurt, fall off in performance or get beat out by the big name in Grossman?

At the time Orton wasn't playing well, they Bears offense was limited in what he could do. Putting in Grossman at the time was the right thing to do. The Problem with Grossman was his inability to make sound safe decisions, he always thought he could make a pass cause of his release and arm strength. The fact that he is barely 6'00" also hurt him and his vision and having balls batted down. Orton doesn't have as good of a arm or release but he makes safe decisions in regards to check downs. He is also alot more mobile then Grossman ever was and has a real good pocket presence.

there was no competition, once Grossman healed he came in and took over for Orton
