Last time I made a prediction on this board I looked like an idiot, but I am going to say MUHS has a real chance in this game. I haven't seen King play, but my guess is Marquette has the ability to match up athlete to athlete with King.

Marquette's depth is offset by the fact that they do not have a star/go to player. As a result they their offense tends to go stale for stretches. But if they get a team effort like last Saturday I think they might just pull this one out. Don't be surprised if we see an upset.

I know at least one King fan has had flashbacks to a certain blowout administered by MUHS a few years back.

I would tend to mostly agree with your sentiments. Still think King wins, but Marquette has a lineup (and depth) designed to give King some issues. Length and offensive balance, for instance. If MUHS handles the defensive pressure, it could be lights out for the Generals.

Just imagine how irritated Hale is watching their rival make a run to the sectional finals.

This isn't the first time Hale has beaten WAC twice in a year and then lost to them in the first playoff game (well, WAC's first playoff game, the quirky scheduling back then gave WAC a first-round bye despite being something like 4-16) and the Bulldogs shockingly went to the sectional final only to lose to Levi Bradley Sr. and Bay View by 4 points (1993).

Was looking forward to a Hale vs Horlick matchup to exorcise 08's sectional loss to them.

Well that was fun.

I think Marquette might have found their coach.

I think they learned their lesson about going "out-of-house" for a coach...stick with the Marquette men.

WAC!

How about that?

The minute they finally got Van Dulm integrated into the lineup towards the end of January (why did it take so long?) things started to build to this crescendo we're seeing.

The result is kinda funny when I think back to the Case reaction last Saturday after the Horlick/WAC score was announced and how happy they were about not having to play Horlick...[:-]

Final

Another game where WAC hung around and hung around and then stunned the opposition with a blitz in the final 60 seconds. 11-0 run to close this one out.

Congrats to WAC. Marquette had no business losing that game up 6 with the ball with about 1:30 to go, but the reality is WAC played an ultra tough game throughout putting them in position to take advantage of Marquette's inability to finish.
