why were they going to RS Nate? Wasn't he the second best big his freshman year? Why did the coaches not see this from the start of the season, clinging to the hope that the other post players were going to be able to hold it down? Same with Bronson.

I don't think it is fair to say that isn't accurate.  You all watch the Badgers more than me.  When is the last time a freshman came in and started the first game?

Would he have contributed?  I am sure he would have eventually found floor time.  Was he going to get the kind of playing time the Iggy did at Michigan or Romeo Langford got at Indiana?  No, I don't believe he would have.   Maybe later into the season, but not from the word go.  That matters to these guys.

When was the last time someone as talented as Herro came to UW? Freshmen play at UW more than people realize. In the last 3 years, Davison, King, and Trice all played extensively as freshmen. Davison started nearly every game as a freshmen

Devin Harris in 2001 was the last True Freshman to start the first game.

Sam Dekker is the last kid to go to WI that was as highly recruited as Herro.

What was his Freshman year like?
@2GuysFromWI

Harbaugh will have Urban Meyer retired from OSU by 2020.

Dekker was the guy I thought of. He came into a situation with a 2 senior forwards in front of him. He also played for a different coach.

I understand the point you are making, but with the roster makeup and struggles to score at the end of the year, I have a hard time not seeing Herro getting his due.

It just dawned on me that the program redshirted a McDonald's All-American at one point.

Yes, yes, I know, the player had a bad bout with mono in the fall and that kind of derailed him, but even before then it was being considered.

...leaving the option open to return...

In other news, Markus Howard is returning to Marquette for his senior year. No surprise there.

It is surprising that he didn't go through the "process" though.

Wieskamp from Iowa is doing that, and he is a couple years away yet.
