Could it be possible that the middle border is fairly evenly balanced this year...with Ellsworth beating Somerset, and Durand pulverizing a New Richmond team that has come close against good teams....IS there really any way to judge?

Looks to me like Osceola and Ellsworth are on the top right now with Durand close by. You also cannot ever discount Somerset. Look at the history.

Geez...what does Osceola have to do to get any respect??? They've now beaten preseason picks Durand and Ellsworth and the "unbeatable" unbeaten Amery (on the road, during their homecoming

Amery was the first fully-manned quad that Osceola beat that you mentioned, maybe that's why they didn't get any respect.

I would just like to point out that Osceola is very foranate (sp?) enough to have so many quality players, their might be only a couple kids that play both ways so when the second half of the game rolls around they have the fresh legs

I was looking at the team stats on Wisfootball & found it pretty interesting that despite being 4-0 in conference and 5-1 overall that Osceola is only winning their games on average of 17.2-14.8 and that their average margain of victory in their five wins is only 6 points per game. Besides Somerset in the last game, their toughest part of the schedule is behind them so they should be able to get at least a share of the conference championship at the very worst if they keep playing like they have been.

last I checked the chiefs are on top by themselves with three games to go. Somerset still has Prescott, amery and Osceola left and can control Their own destiny. Ellsworth needs all kinds of help along with Durand. Amery is very alive and well.

Looks Like I don't understand why Ellsworth needs help...they are 4-2, and still play prescott, durand, and New Richmond....2 out of those three teams have losing records and Durand has been beaten, so why do they help?

Here's the rundown to get an OUTRIGHT conference championship (not a tie). Osceola can win the conference by winning out. Amery will win the conference if they win out and Osceola loses twice (Osceola has to lose twice because Amery's lone loss would be to Osceola and therefore give Osceola the championship). Somerset wins the conference if they win out (tie breaker over Osceola because they will have a victory over Osceola, Amery would end up with 2 conference losses, and Ellsworth already has 2). Ellsworth woud have to have Osceola lose their last 3 games, Amery to lose 2 of 3, and Somerset to lose 1 in order to win the conference out right. There are other possibilities that would allow for sharing of the conference but those are way more complicated. Also, I don't think Ellsworth will beat Durand, after seeing the size of them and the way they play with all of their starters, Durnad looks very dangerous.
a win is a win, whether by 1 or 100

Somerset has really been hit hard by injuries this year. I know that is a bad excuse but they have lost three of the best players on their team to injuries. If they get those guys back, and I have heard they are coming back in a few weeks, I think they will show they are still the favorite. But, only time will tell.
