So far "we" as in the memorial community know that 2 freshman have made it onto the James Madison Memorial State Basketball Champions Team. 1 of them had a little talk behind him about being one of the top 8th graders in the nation last year Brendan Ortiz is his name, and then another player named Jester who is fairly tall and is not quite as skilled as Brendan but is a very good post and has tremendous hops. So How DO YOU think these two incoming freshman will contribute and accomplish on this roster?[afro]

I know Jester can live up to the hype. Yes he is very tall and can score around the basket, His jumper is getting there. You get him a jumper and in the weight room a little bit watch out for him

Brendan is more of a player that can live up to the hype. He is 6'1" with a nice jumper and exceptional dribbling and passing, also with great athletic ability. He could still be in the weight room more getting stronger, but he will get there as time goes on being a 4 year Varsity preformer and on harder weight training programs. Most likely top 5 in the state for Class of '13.

Nice first post?

Collins wouldnt bring them up to varsity unless he intended to play them.

Mike Nelson
Wesley Matthews
Jerard Ajami
Kori Vernon
Vander Blue

Many of Jmm's best players over the years started on JV/Sophomores before going to varsity as a sophomore. Collins doesn't move players up unless they are going to play.
D-1 State Champs 2005, 2009 & 2011
D-1 State Runner-Up 2004, 2006, 2008 & 2010
Big8 Champs 2004,2005,2006,2007,2008,2009,2010,2011

Lights Out!!!!
