What impact do you see the new teams coming in having? In what sports?

For football the teams that remain in the Bay will make the playoffs more often.

Denmark and Hortonville will probably finish in the top half for football. Casco might be decent in other sports. And I cant see Oconto Falls making a huge splash anywhere next year.

Isn't it going to be the Fox Valley Classic Conference? Or the Fox River Classic...

I think reallignment is going to hurt Seymour in Basketball. They will miss the tough competition from the D1 schools such as Ash.,BP and DP. Unless they get into some high profile tourneys they will never be able to replace the competition they got from these teams. Some of the advantage they had in tourney time from playing tough D1 schools during the season may be gone.

Just curious as to where/when you heard this was how they'd be split. The last I heard this was still up for debate. Mainly just the switching of DP and ND, but maybe I missed something?

What's happening to Waupaca in this realignment? Doesn't make sense since they're close to 900 in enrollment.

If Waupaca were to go to the new bay they would fit in perfectly in terms on enrollment with Hortonville at 1,089, Oconto Falls at 619, L-C at 675, Denmark at563, WDP at 729, New London at 939, Shawano at 1,121, Marinette at 768 and Seymour at 815. Waupaca's enrollment according to the WIAA is 854. Instead of going to the Bay, which they should, they will be in the new Eastern Valley Conference. In the Eastern Valley the next closest school to them is Fox Valley Lutherean at 612. All of the other 8 schools fall between 413 students to 609. Waupaca's claim is that they are losing enrollment and my comment to that is that a lot schools are losing enrollment.

they are supposed to drop down to 600 or so... but even then they would still fit in. Their other argument was travel... well what i say to that is...
A) Drop Marinette and Oconto Falls- they are major outliers
B) Add Waupaca and Clintonville- Clintonville has big rivalries with NL, Seymour, and Shawano... Waupaca would bolster their conference toughness helping them in the playoffs.
I guess it just comes down to winning... Waupaca wants their conference championships but this will hurt them in the long run when they play tough D3 football teams and tough D2 basketball teams

I could not agree with you more. Then the conference I am a fan of would be an 8 team league (Xavier, FVL, Freedom, Little Chute, Winneconne, Omro, Berlin, and Ripon). This would be very good b/c all of the schools would then be in the same playing field in terms of enrollment. The only problem I see with dropping O Falls and Marinette is where do they go??

The easiest solution would have been to move Hortonville and Waupaca into the Bay and Denmark and LC into the V-8. Travel is everyones problem, but Hortonville to Marinette is no easier than Waupaca to Marinette, plus it is only once a year in B-ball and once everyother year in F-ball.

The problem with all the reallignement was that the squeaky wheel got the grease. The GB schools complaint which started this whole thing, then Wrightstown and St. Bay complained with the first idea. Who didn't raise issue? The Bay schools, Denmark, LC and Oconto Falls, and look at who got the short end of the stick!

First of all, you can't complain about distance. The WVC and Big Rivers have been doing it for years, some more than 115 miles.

I'd have a Waupaca/Marinette combo. Having played in the Wisconsin Valley, I'd say distance builds character, play what you are given, even if you're Rhinelander travelling 115 miles to Rapids to win!
