I don't know how many of you keep up with the Home Talent League, but here goes. The final four is a round-robin tournament. Representatives include:

Northern Section: Sauk Prairie
Southern Section: Fort Atkinson
Eastern Section: Poynette
Western Section: Dodgeville

August 27 scores
Dodgeville 4, Poynette 2
Fort Atkinson 1, Sauk Prairie 0

September 3 scores
Dodgeville 3, Sauk Prairie 0
Poynette 11, Fort Atkinson 2

September 10 games
Dodgeville @ Fort Atkinson
Poynette @ Sauk Prairie

If Dodgeville wins, they win the tourney. It would be their first title since 1972.

Dodgeville will more then likely win in dominating fashion.

Dodgeville is good, but I still think Verona is better.....

We (Monroe) lot by like 4 runs combined against DVille, and by an average of like 8 or 9 a game against VTown... It would have been more if we didn't lose 5-4 in the 2nd round of the tourney.......

Well, Dodgeville beat Verona twice this year, so it's not like it was just a fluke.

I understand that. I just think that Verona is still the better overall team.

What kind of league uses a round robin for a playoff system? Thats just retarted.

Verona is always one of the top teams and it is a big win for any team when they defeat them. Dodgeville has been underrated all season, which perhaps plays into why they have gotten this far.

I think Dodgeville probably has already played their toughest games of the playoffs already before they even got to the final four.

Not for the entire playoffs just the final four. Isn't the college world series something similar to round robin in the world series?

Dodgeville lost 5-3 to Fort Atkinson yesterday. So, the playoffs continue. Also yesterday Poynette beat Sauk Prairie 3-2 in 10 innings to stay alive. Now Poynette and Fort Atkinson will play each other next week while Dodgeville takes a week off. The winner of that game will then come to Dodgeville on Sep. 24 to play for the title.

No the college world series is a double elimination tournament.

A round robin to determine a champ just sounds dumb to me.

Wow this is really getting dragged out. I hate how there is a week inbetween games.

I heard that Fort Atkinson beat Poynette today 8-1 so it looks like Fort @ Dodgeville next Sunday for the title. The Home Talent League was created in 1929, and each team has just one previous title--Fort in 1994, Dodgeville in 1972.

DODGEVILLE KNIGHTS WIN
2006 HTL CHAMPIONSHIP!

The Dodgeville Knights Home Talent Team just defeated the Fort Atkinson Generals 2-1 in 12 innings to win the title!

This is one of the best baseball games I've ever been to, and I'm totally not just saying that because the team won that I wanted to.

The Knights were without the services of Karl Reynolds, Ryan Kussmaul, and Jay Lindner due to college ball.

Dodgeville had the bases loaded in the bottom of the 10th with no outs and Fort got out of the jam.

The Knights then re-loaded the bases in the 12th with no one out. Ryan Reilly came up to bat with two outs and blooped one down the first base line to win the game.

WOW!
