I wonder how often it has happened that 1st cousins have made the boys & girls McDonald's All-American teams, respectively, in the same season.

Such is the case with Whitefish Bay Dominican's Diamond Stone and Divine Savior-Holy Angels' Arike Ogunbowale.

Both Diamond and Arike are fortunate to be part of an athletic gene pool.

Diamond?s mother, Cynthia Oliver-Stone, played volleyball at Arkansas Pine-Bluff.

Yolanda
Ogunbowale played softball at DePaul. Dare Ogunbowale, Arike?s older brother, is a redshirt freshman walk-on defensive back on the UW football team.

There?s another family tie to the Badgers: Yolanda and Cynthia are cousins with Ryan Evans, who played under Ryan and was a two-year starter at forward.

Mentioned in the link, but not really elaborated upon: Diamond Stone's dad, Bob, was a stud post-player for UW-Whitewater back in the early-mid '70's, when I was a student at UW-Eau Claire. I saw Bob Stone play 3-4 times vs the Blugolds during that time and, let me assure you, he was a load, both scoring in the post & cleaning up the boards. 3-times All-WSUC. Hailed from Flint, Michigan where everyone is essentially tough.
