WAC literally threw this one away in the second half...which is doubly tough for me to swallow.

I've never seen a team take momentum and turn it into a negative thing like WAC does.

One positive was they finally got a decent ground game going.

Yea the ground game consisted of the quarterback tucking it and running when his recievers werent open. WAC played tough but it shouldn't have been that close.

About half of Barwick's runs were set plays (a new wrinkle put in this week), FYI. Matt Pawlowski had a 40-yard run before halftime and Nate Matthews averaged over 3 yards a carry (don't laugh)...these were all big steps forward for a team that has not moved the ball on the ground at all this year.

Shouldn't have been that close? I have to disagree.

Maybe Falls shouldn't have thrown (why Falls even attempted any passes was beyond me) two picks to open up the third quarter (each were good plays from the WAC defense)...If anything, WAC should have been in the driver's seat after that, but as usual they didn't take advantage. Same goes with the onside kick they recovered in the first half, only to go backwards.

I'd say two scores is probably pretty indicative of the difference between these two teams...

I kind of agree with fallsfurrious' assessment. It didn't hurt them tonight, but Falls doesn't seem to have much imagination offensively...they are heavily reliant on Myhra and Poeske.

Im not trying to disrespect your team or anything, cause i know your a WAC guy and you probably have figured that im a falls guy. WAC is a decent team and there is no way they should have lost to Tosa East. But basicly Falls was screwin' up last night. I have a question for you though. Did you get a good view of that jailbreak kick they recovered? I couldn't tell if it went ten yards.. it was real close.?

I thought Falls played pretty solid, I didn't notice much screwing up on their part. WAC certainly blew some opportunities. I agree they should have never lost to Tosa East, but that's the way things bounce when you're struggling.

What I saw was that the ball bounced up on a Falls player and appeared to hit him in the facemask before bouncing back to the onrushing WAC players. When I put the game onto DVD I'll check it again and see if something different happened, but it seemed quite obvious that Falls contacted the ball.

Thanks for the update. Not sure how I missed that. Makes me feel a little better about the loss.

It will be interesting to see if Basham hands the keys over to Kopriva. The kid is 6'5 and looks like he can wing it, but he also looks like he hasnt grown into his body yet and Im not sure how athletic he is. Not to beat up on the kid, but Cannon is just not the answer. As I said before this is by far the weakest group of QBs Marq has had since I was there. Ironically enough we too had a soph on the rosrer who went when 18-1 once he became the starter and ended up at Ball State. But he too didnt play his soph year on Varisty. Im not sure Basham has any other alternatives.

I agree with what you said about the conference. Although I wouldnt be completely shocked if BC or Hamilton made a little run if they somehow could put it all together and play consistently for entire game or two.

That was Jake Josetti, right?

Another thing. Sussex is a good football team. I really believe that Hale has gotten a little lucky this year. When sussex plays their game they are as good as anybody in the conference.?

Right.

Jake Moreland who played briefly in the NFL was also a sophmore that year. He did play varsity the last three or for games and made a pretty big impact. Maybe Josetti wasnt quite ready, but he couldnt have done any worse than what we had and I think if he had been given opportunity from day 1 he would have been ok.

Instead my junior and senior year we were responsible for 10 of Basham's 84 career L's.
