I would've sworn there already existed a thread devoted to Badger freshman QB Graham Mertz.  However, I could not locate one.

What follows is more or less a biography-up-to-now of Mertz's life on & off the gridiron.

Interestingly, Mertz has strong family ties to the state of WI and has spent a fair amount of time in the state during his youth:

"There's also the state of Wisconsin, which Mertz has visited his entire life because his mother is from Green Bay. Despite not being a huge NFL fan, he owns three Brett Favre jerseys (two Packers, one Vikings).

'We'd always go up to Door County,' Mertz said. 'My grandpa had a cottage right on Lake Michigan, so growing up, I fell in love with the state.' "

The question is whether he is the starting QB in game 1 of the season. I'm not sure that he will be.

Jack Coan.

Apparently all four QBs had pretty solid springs.

Not gonna lie I'm a little nervous yet quite excited about the QB situation at UW. With Cephus returning, the Badger offense takes a decent step forward, and I hope they can make at least more noise in the Big Ten than last season's awful campaign.
Just found out there was a forum section at WSN...

Should be fun to see what he can add to the offense.
