But actually are you kidding me?

So I don't follow girls basketball that closely, but I looked this up after seeing these posts, and really really really not seeing the outrage here. Both they and Sheboygan North are undefeated, and it's not like 1 v 2 really matters when the game is going to be at Preble anyway.

Precisely, mcfc.

Even though the Kimberly/FVA people were out-numbered at the seeding meeting by the FRCC folks, I think they got it right. It's all subjective and will be settled on the court. However, IMO, the FRCC is a much tougher conference this season with the likes of Sheboygan North, DePere, Green Bay Notre Dame and Green Bay Southwest than is the FVA. Sheboygan North defeated all of its FRCC foes this season including DePere twice. In all fairness, Kimberly played the tougher non-conf schedule and prevailed over Pius XI by 5 pts and over Oak Creek by 1 pt in double-overtime at home. Let's see if Kimberly (probably at home) can defeat DePere to advance to a possible sectional semi-final vs Sheboygan North on a neutral court.

Saying you can "hang with" a team is kind of like the fat kid waving the trophy from the smell contest. Can you beat them is the question. Kimberly has already beaten two of those teams on that list. Middleton got shelled by Oak Creek, who Kimberly beat, and lost to D13 Lourdes. The seeding doesn't matter that much in that bracket, but Kimberly had no chance at the 1 at that meeting. They're a darn good team that just doesn't make mistakes. Only question is how they would handle a team with height, which Shebby North and Arrowhead have.

While #1 vs #2 would be on a neural court, the #1 seed has the benefit of avoiding perennial power De Pere until the finals, which in my opinion is enough to make "it matter." Regardless of whether Green Bay Southwest finishes ahead of or tied with De Pere in the FRCC standings, De Pere is a team that has the tournament experience, which in my opinion is valuable this time of year.

As far as "Kimberly/FVA people," it's more like person, as Kimberly was on an island (only FVA team) at the meeting which made the voting very predictable. Now if the rolls were reversed and it was 8 FVA teams and Sheboygan North in a nine team Regional, I'd be willing to bet that Kimberly would have gotten the #1 seed and Sheboygan North the #2 seed. It's just the nature of the beast at the seeding meetings.

Lastly, as far as it being subjective, Kimberly and Sheboygan North met on the court around this same time last year. Both teams are made up of virtually the same key players, and Kimberly was able to win on Sheboygan North's home court 28-25, holding the Wolf twins to a combined seven points. While one may think the FRCC is the stronger league, the FVA actually holds a 6-5 advantage this season in head-to-head match-ups.

While the seeding makes for good discussion, there is the potential for some GREAT match-ups next week, and that is a win-win for all basketball fans!!! Best of luck to all teams!!

As well as beating Oak Creek who has two very athletic 6'2 girls both going high level D1 this year. So they have handled teams with height both last year and this year.

I will say this, I do not think Kimberly is necessarily the best team in in the state. IMO, (in no particular order) Sheboygan North, Oak Creek, Superior, DSHA, Pius XI, Pewaukee, Green Bay Notre Dame and possibly DePere are as good or better than Kimberly.

Following one or more losses apiece, in the past week, I no longer consider Pewaukee and DePere to be as good or better than Kimberly. On the other hand, I should've included Hartland Arrowhead in my original list from the get-go.

So, at the moment, IMO, D-1 schools Sheboygan North, Oak Creek, Arrowhead, Superior and possibly Middleton along with D-2 schools Milwaukee Pius XI and Green Bay Notre Dame can hang with or possibly defeat Kimberly.

Let's not get carried away and call a last place team in the MAC West and a 7th place team in one of the worst conferences in Women's basketball (horizon) high level D1. D1 yes but more like mid major then high level.

It pains me to say that about the Horizon with two in state schools being in it but it is the truth.

That game last year was at Kimberly actually.

No. 2-seed Kimberly defeated visiting No. 6 Sheboygan North 28-25 after North had gone on the road at defeated No. 3 Bay Port 48-46 in the regional semifinal.

Just to add a little bit of history to this sectional also.

In 2012, Kimberly and De Pere both pushed themselves to be the No. 1 seed that season at the seeding meeting They had identical records and Kimberly had won the head-to-head regular season match-up.

Not only did the remaining FRCC schools vote De Pere the one seed, they voted Sheboygan North the No. 2, dropping Kimberly to No. 3.

Kimberly promptly went into Sheboygan North in a regional final and won 45-42, however the Papermakers lost the rematch with De Pere in the sectional semifinal 47-39.

My mistake!!! I thought it was at Sheboygan, but that was actually the Arrowhead game, and even that was at South, and not North.

My mind is really starting to go!!! [x(]
