Wow, I really did not get that vibe from Lutheran this year, the feeling about basketball is subdued to say the least, a lot of girls not playing ?don't like the coach and other issues, only 9 on varsity this year apparently. The core people you mentioned are still there, Casey H is still really good, I was thinking middle of the pack in conference. Hope to be proven wrong.

After some research and thought here are my honest thoughts.

1. Oostburg. Yes they lost their coach and 4 very outstanding Seniors. But the cupboard is not bare, most teams rebuild, Oost. just reloads. returing players, Swart, Hilbelink, Raeder, Telschow, form a solid core. add in 6 sophmores and 1 Freshman and you have the makings of a good team. Key is how will the sophmores/Freshman adjust to varsity level and adjusting to a new coach and system.

2, Howards Grove. All the makings of a good team Moenning, Finnell, Hopf, Albert, benning, Latham, and Lindstrom a freshman. Key is parents keeping quite and some talk on previous post about drinking suspensions, how true is this!!!!

3. Ozaukee. Thill, Kaul, Hartnett, Advantage here is their coach. Numbers might be a problem

4 Cedar Grove. Starting 5 back from last year, Meinen, Dykstra, Slotman twins, von Heimburg.
Key is protect the ball, too many turnovers last year hurt them.

5. Luthern. Hasenstein, Bolget, Dillmann, Cox, returning core but is their heart into it. Why so few players going out, Usually at Luthern you have always had 15 players suited up?

6. Random Lake. could battle with Luthern and CG for 4,5,6 place. Dieringer, Maxon , Navis, Witkoski, core has been together since they were freshman

7. EL. Vollraths girls will leard the way. wil get some wins because of their good coach.

8. Christian. Lost alot and Demaster is gone ffor the year on a mission exchange type deal.
Egerer if she comes out will be their main threat. help in Juniors, Ongna, Lemenes, and Sophmore Joose should help the cause. Will struggle esarly but under the guidenc of Ralph Dekker will pesak at the end of the year.

9. Kohler. Very Young but will only improve with time. Peters, Gartman will lead the way.

Oostburg at Plymouth. Oostburg pulls out 54-49 or so...Dont quote me on the score, but it was somewhere around there.

I cant believe how sloppy Oostburg is. To start with.. Offense- Is there one? I didnt know what they were doing all night. I dont think they did either. it looked to be a version of a motion offense, but who knows. Julie Raeder shot well. Others made some plays as well.
Defense- As a whole did well, but took way too many risks... Every pass they liked to try and pick off. Helpside was there half the time, but number 44 of Plymouth just ate them up.
Press- Again with this. Was it existant? It was awful and im even gonna go out on a limb here and say it was worse than their offense. At most times they were completly flattened out, and allowed passes over their heads and got beat for easy layups....
Enough ranting and raving. Even with a lack of good offense they still scored 50 points. A positive from the game..... Anyways, always room for improvement i guess....

Bringithome we have to remember one thing this year. THis years Oost girls team is totally diff that last years. New coach, lot of new players, new system etc. we have just been spoiled over the last 3 years in that they have gone 74-2, and sometimes we expect them to win every game. There will be growing pains early on but by the the end of the year they will be on a roll.
