Germantown plays Cedarburg on Friday, then will play Dominican for number 62 in a row at Homestead on Saturday to tie Dominicans all time winning record. Has anyone seen Dominican play this year? Just wondering if Stone will be able to control a game, or do they not have enough weapons to get him the ball.

Saw Dominican the other night. Better than I though they'd be, and a lot of that has to do with Bressler's development. Not sure whether Diamond is at the stage yet where he can single-handedly beat a good team, let alone the type of team G-Town is. He also needs to avoid foul trouble, and that may be hard to do with Bearden and Co. attacking the basket relentlessly.

Even if Dominican gets 20 apiece from Stone and Bressler, I'm not sure Dominican has enough offense outside of them to score enough to beat G-Town. Jelacic, in particular, needs to find his shooting stroke after struggling vs. Hamilton the other night.

It's interesting to look at potential slip-ups for G-Town if they get by Dominican on Saturday.

Oshkosh North could kill the streak at 66 at the WBY Shootout, but IMO, it's more likely the streak ends in January at Brookfield Central.

And sure enough, the BC game would be #71 (if my math is correct). 71 being the "true official" number of the win streak for Dominican, as their loss in Game 63 to Thomas More was later awarded as a forfeit due to a residency/guardianship issue with TM's star player, Nigel Wallace.

Coach Don Gosz and most of the players do consider 62 to be the true number for the winning streak because "they lost game 63 on the court."

The JS looked back on Dominican's streak in today's paper:

I offered the same thoughts concerning Oshkosh North in the comments section of the related article on the WSN home page.

"I think the team with perhaps the best chance of ending Germantown's streak in the immediate near future is Oshkosh North, on 12/28, in the WBY Shoot-Out at Concordia College in Mequon."
