Being in sales is tough. Just when you think your day of rejections is over you end up going home to your wife for a couple more rounds.

Currently $1.74 in Winona, MN. This price makes it a lot easier to drive home to hunt this weekend.

Edit: It was $1.69 on my drive home.

$1.749 in Antigo this morning. Down from $1.939 (or something like that) on Friday.
Without officials, it would just be recess!

$1.56 is what I paid in Red Wing, MN on my trip to the casino.

Speaking of Antigo, on Friday, we filled up at the FS for $1.74...every other pump in town was at least 15 cents higher.

We've got gas stations across the street from each other that can't keep the same price.

A perfect time to add a little gas tax to raise it back to about $3 or so. That will solve a lot of problems.

I would be fine with that if they said that the tax is only $3 - the price of gas. Whatever they get is all they get so gas would never rise above $3 unless the actual price of gas did. Also the money can only go toward paying off our debt, nothing else. Once that is gone which it never will the tax is removed. However I don't our government is actually discplined enough to follow through with it. I wouldn't trust the government to look after my money during a game of monopoly so I don't really see this happening.

Thankfully this is a democratic society of people of freewill who would never endorse your communist idea .

Money does not solve problems alone , money coupled with an actual plan does .

The Citgo and Phillips 66 on the corner of 10th Ave and Highway 45 on the south side of Antigo are always one cent cheaper than anywhere else in town. I think it's illegal, but they've been doing it for as long as I can remember.

They wouldn't even have to raise it that much, they could put a 20-30 cent tax on and consumers would still feel like they're getting a deal and the government would still be getting a Lot of money.

1) Higher gas tax can pay for Social Security downfalls or help with local/state/federal debt.
2) Higher gas prices will likely force most people to drive higher MPG cars, helping the environment. This will really help with all the idiots who drive a huge truck for non-work purposes.
3) Dependence on foreign oil will decrease.
4) In the end, it will help the auto industry to recover as well.
5) Don't go throwing around words like "communist" when you probably don't even know what it means on a grand scale.

I would like to see our state spend the money it has responsibly, before throwing them more. There is far too much wasted to be giving the state any more.
