Interesting move for Atlanta. I like the idea of Ryan having a receiver like Gonzo to throw to, but at the cost of a 2nd round pick. It is a HUGE upgrade though over Pelle.

On a side note a former classmate of mine is a scout for them!

Warning: Backtoback/GNG post is imminent regarding how the Pack should have the stud young receiver and Qb that we have and paired with Gonzo and Turner in stead of Atlanta....TT is ruining the team and his Vikings will dominate...actually maybe the Falcons will be his favorite team this year. [:-] I just wanna see how close I am. And then we will get the follow up emails from the people that take it personally and it will all start all over again. We will see how close I am or if this pre-emptive strike minimizes it. [:-]

the pack should look into this guy...I think he would be a great pick up and add some depth/competition in camp

Not worth it. He'll cost some serious dough I think, and who would he start over? I really want Clay Matthews to start this year.

That trade up to get Matthews was pretty genius. Do you guys realize what Thompson managed to do there. Besides the main point that he got a player he loved at a position with a massive need for a talented player, its still incredibly smart. Consider this: There were two draft picks this year that were going to have unreasonable and unfair amounts of pressure to perform, simply for being picked in the slot they were picked in--Whoever got picked in Favre's spot, and whoever got picked with the 2nd Rounder that could have gotten Gonzo. Think about Babre--even if he starts this year, we'll still always think of Randy Moss when he plays. With the Matthews trade, Thompson has avoided all of that pressure and ditched those picks.

Then again, it could have just put the pressure on Matthews. Now he has to be as good as Favre and Gonzales combined []
