Milton vs. Elkhorn- Milton should win rather easily.

Oregon vs. Franklin-I know that Franklin has played tougher competition but I will go with the BS team.

Monona Grove @ Waunakee- Waunakee is the better team, plain and simple.

Edgewood vs. Jefferson- Edgewood should win this.

I dont have any real hard evidence or fact to support my predictions but Its late and I have a paper to write...

Franklin was the 2006 D2 state champ, so they know how to win. Still there's no way I can pick against my boys in Otown.

All I know about them is that they love to throw the ball, and pretty much run the spread. It will be difficult for Oregon to have enough defensive backs that can match up with that.

I see this game as a shootout, Oregon wins 34-29.

Milton vs. Elkhorn I'm guessing Milton would like another shot at Oregon

Oregon vs. Franklin Franklin QB has thrown for 1200 yards this season (so I'm told). I'm sure Kissling has them working on pass coverage. Needless to say we need to bring our best game of the season. If we can refrain from giving up the "big play" and keep the penalties down, we should be ok.

Monona Grove @ Waunakee This game will be closer than many think, I believe. Waunakee will prevail

Edgewood vs. Jefferson I'll go with the BS team.

Franklin 21
Oregon 14 final

Wow. What a heartbreaker for Oregon. Up 14-7 in the 4th, then Franklin drives down and scores. They line up and kick the extra point, but apparently called a timeout before the kick. They go for 2 and get it, leading 15-14 with just seconds left. Talk about a balsy call.

Oregon then threw a pick 6 with 3 seconds left. Mega ouch.

DAMNIT

Hard game to watch in person, let me tell you Oregon offensive coaches need to review how they handled this game. Near the end of the first half Nelson throws a bomb for a completion down to about the 7 yd line. We run a play, don't score, Franklin player down on the filed....injury timeout 9 seconds left. Coach should know the clock will start before the snap of the ball. Nelson barks out the signals 8....7....6.....c'mon hike it ....5 ball is snapped. We don't score, 0 seconds left on the clock and we go to the locer room with timeouts on our pocket and points left on the field.... A field goal here and it's a whole different ball game. Big letdown after playing a great half of defense.

Franklin makes halftime adjustments on offense and comes out running in the second half. They pick up a touchdown. About 2 minutes left in the game were up 14-7, defense intercepts, great run back down to the 15 yard line. Off setting personal foul penalties and then a dead ball PF against us puts the ball back on the 30 yard line with 1:30 left on the clock and 7 pt lead. 1st down...run up the middle, stuffed for a loss. 2nd down....run at the tackle... no gain. 3rd down play gets in late to the huddle (nothing new for us, been happning for years). Nelson's under center, sees the ref counting, hurries up the count....Coaches call timeout! The 20-30 seconds we didn't use here end up being critical. Incomplete pass on 3rd down so we punt from about our 35 into the end zone. If we'd have tried to run out side here we'd have maybe used a little more time and for sure surprised Franklin as we hadn't run a pitch or sweep outside all night. Turning point of the game. Franklin is jacked up and we're reeling.

Franklin takes over on the 20. Three great defensive plays and Franklin is faced with 4th and 16.... and they make a huge pass play for a first down. Eventually they score. On the PAT where they called time out, the kick was good. Their coach must have called timeout right before the snap. QB runs a keeper to the wide side of the field and gets hit right at the goal line and side line and falls in for the 2pts

The boys played well enough to win.......If any of you are reading this, good luck to the under-classmen next year. And to the Seniors, good luck as you head down the road of life...your going to do well!

Any thoughts on the Milton V Franklin game?

It will all come down to how well Milton defends against Franklin's no-huddle spread offense. Granted, Franklin dropped a couple passes on Tuesday, but overall I thought we played our best defense of the year. If Milton was scouting or has tapes of the game, I'm sure they learned a few things that will help them. It should be a fun game to watch.

Edgewood rolled over Mt. Horeb 42-14, next up for the Crusaders, Reedsburg who only hung 70 on Delavan.
