D5 Bracket is up..

[link=http://www.wissports.net/sports/football/downloads/2009/d5bracket.pdf]http://www.wissports.ne...loads/2009/d5bracket.pdf[/link]

Kenosha St. Joes (3-3, 5-4) @ CG-Belgium (2)
Heritage Christian (5-2, 7-2) @ Oostburg (3)
Random Lake @ St. Mary Springs(1) (7-0, 9-0)
Howards @ Tigerton/Marion(4) (4-1, 6-3)

Thoughts?

I don't know anything about Heritgage Christian but that looks like a pretty tough match-up for a 3 seed.

I know less than you do probably, but I think I would disagree with you on that.
Heritage plays in the Midwest Classic, a conference that is usually weaker than the CLC. Plus Heritage beat Hope School by just 6 points last Thursday. For reference, Stockbridge beat Hope by 24 points in Week 2. Different situations and things change obviously, you have to be a good team to make it this far, but I would be shocked if Oostburg won by less than 20 points.

I think Howards could pull the upset, that's a really long bus ride for a Week 1 game though.

Random gets a tough draw with Springs, could happen though.

Cedar Grove should walkover KSJ, but Oosty, Springs, Lancaster for the next 3 rounds? Brutal.

Everyone but Random should advance, Howards might not don't know much about the strength of the oppositions team or conference.

I see 5 time defending D6 Champions Stratford got bumped up to D5 and get to face Colby right off that bat.... too bad Stratford had somewhat of a down year, it would have been interesting to see how Stratford does against "higher level" of competition...or maybe we will []

the top of the clc isnt weak. if i remember right, 3 teams won in the 1st round of playoffs last year and then cg went to state. that doesnt classify as weak to me.

You do not understand the feelings that would be going through my body if Colby got beat first round - would not understand... Go Stratford...

As for O-town, if you don't beat Heritage Christain you do not belong in the playoffs...

People are looking for the GIGANTIC class - a 2005 rematch in lever 3 of Springs vs. Grove... What people have to understand is that Grove has a tough scrappy O-town team to play and Springs will be waiting for them... Should be interesting, very excited...

Wasn't saying that at all. Just saying that historically, the CLC has been stronger than the Midwest Classic.

I'm hoping its misleading, which I'm sure it is. It just seems weird at first glance Oosty drew a 7-2 team and Tigerton drew Howards (no offense Grovers). I didn't really get a chance to look into it too much, but thats good to know!

One thing I noticed while checking out some teams is that Colby has allowed a couple subpar teams to hang around them. Just on Thursday they only beat a 4-3 conference team by 14 points. Since they have Stratford, a D6 powerhouse team for the past several years... I'm looking at a pretty big potential upset!

While the Rockets have a tough road ahead of them I think that a level III match up against a good Springs team is inevitable. With that being said I am not willing to concede a victory to them. The way people talk here CG-B should just roll over and let Springs walk away with a win. I know this is a long way out and I don't mean to offend any of the other teams in the bracket by looking to far ahead but I'm tired of hearing the bell toll for Springs. Lets play the games and see whos the best. CG-B was the state runner up last year and went undefeated "again" this season, I can't believe they are not in consideration for the final 4 by alot of people.

Playoff football Play hard or go home!

Oostburg is going to be much tougher to play than the first game against CG-B... Take away the rain im thinking its a closer game.. Not a win but at least closer
