High school athletes are so shallow. All they care about is winning. Pro athletes are humane and decent; they help the economy by using their million-dollar paychecks on hookers, beer and drugs. They have their values in place.

Jon Martin led all scorers with 19 points. Is there anyone else out here that thinks Tyler Jenson might be a little overrated?

I was at the Waupaca game last night in LC. Little Chute has a very talented team, balanced between seniors and juniors, and looks to be one of the top 2 teams in the EVC. And watching their JV play, it looks like they are stacked for years to come as well.

As for Winneconne, they are impressive, but to me its more about how unimpressive Xavier has been. Doesn't it seem they get little out of the talent they have? I seem to recall several losing season before the great class came through and won back-to-back conference titles. Now they look like they will be sub-.500 again with those kids gone. Its not like they don't have any talent on this year's varsity team, although they should be playing better as the season progresses, so we'll see how they play the next 2 or 3 weeks.

Haven't seen FVL, but they sound pretty dominant. I guess the fact that Winneconne hung with them shows that they are pretty good. Their game against LC next week will be quite a showdown. It might be worth a drive to the valley if the weather is good.

Attended the FVL game last night. Not much of a game, wasn't Ripon picked to take the EVC by Wishoops? FVL held Ripon to only two points in the first quarter and 8 points in the first half. FVL played great defense that didn't give Ripon a lot of good looks and controlled the boards. FVL starters didn't play much in the second half; everyone got to play and played well. FVL is very athletic. M. Walters didn't play but considering the score I don't think he would have made up the deficit.

Looks like Winneconne is a lot better than anyone thought. Anyone see the game?

Since the Berlin/Ripon game wasn't played on Tuesday, Walters still needed to sit another game. I would guess he will be on the court Thursday against Waupaca.

I agree with Badger about Winnecone. I have yet to see Winneconne play, but they are better than I expected. Mr. Ryf is off to a phenomenal start, but I haven't really noticed a consistent number two scorer. I know someone had 23? in their first game, but other than that Ryf has really been the only one putting up some noticeable numbers. Winneconne's defense is still suspect to me. They can score with the best of 'em, but 82 points to FVL is a darn lot (granted FVL is VERY good) and 50 points to a questionable Xavier. I'm not sold. I think Clintonville is a similar team to Winneconne. They've been scoring a lot of points, 57 ppg, but they played WB, Ripon, Omro, and Berlin. Van Daalwyk is having a good start as well, scoring 32 vs WB and 23 vs the Indians. There defense is has also not proven it can get it done. 50 points to a Berlin team that scored 18 in the previous game? I dont know, just some observations that I've made. I see Clintonville as a middle of the pack team and Winneconne fighting for a top 4 spot. I think FVL and LC remain head and shoulders above the rest of the EVC at this point but there is a lot of season left. Should be fun.

I have no clue, but looking at that score being down 42-8 at halftime is humiliating. I expected much better than that. wow.
