Pretty "easy" week of picks, with the Freedom/Waupaca match-up being the only game I had second thoughts about.

I really think Little Chute is going to "surprise" a few people this season. If there is any truth to the rumor that former Kimberly coach John Miron is "helping out" the Mustangs this season, look for them to improve on last years 4th place finish. The experience that Miron possesses is invaluable, to a team looking to get "over the hump."

My understanding is that they have two former D1 head coaches helping the program in Miron (a close friend of principal Dan Valentyn) and former Appleton West coach Shane Knudsen (a LC grad and resident).

Miron and others coaching at Little Chute is true, reported by Mark Miller-WSN.

Winneconne vs FVL--Ryf is a very nice player but FVL has too much firepower.
Little Chute vs Berlin--LC has some talent but it will be interesting to see how they use it.
Ripon vs Clintonville--Should be a low scoring game with the outcome decided by 5 points or less.
Freedom vs Waupaca--The football championship will help or hinder this team and I think it will help.
Xavier vs Omro--Xavier will bounce back after a season opening loss to Appleton East.

When was the FVL-Winneconne game played? I thought the conference openers were tonight.
