I didn't think this would get any views on the tennis board, so I posted it here.

John Isner and Nicolas Mahut are locked up in the longest match in tennis history, lasting 10 hours... and it is still going. It has been suspended twice due to darkness. The 5th set alone has lasted 7 hours and 6 minutes. Right now it stands at 2 sets a piece with the 5th set knotted at 59-59. Isner could hardly move his 6 foot 9 frame around the court anymore, but he has a 130+ mph serve that Mahut couldn't touch. This will probably never happen again in tennis and is amazing to even think about playing tennis for 10 hours.

Here is an article from ESPN if you want to read more, I just kind of summarized it.

This is an increible match. The Wimbledon website is showing they won't start before 9:30 our time to try to conclude this match.

Also I think this belongs on the Water Cooler Board. Sure it is about tennis but this type of thing transcends the sport. I never go to the tennis board and I'm not a big fan. I know who the top players are from highlights on Sportscenter and only watch if its a Grand Slam final and nothing else is on TV but I'm wrapped up in this insane match. This type of thing is something that is talked about by everyone regardless if they care about tennis or not.

This belongs on the tennis board. If people are interested in talking about it, they know where to find it.

And as somebody who does watch the sport, it doesn't really transcend tennis. Sure it's crazy and getting some people who don't watch tennis to tune in, ultimately all it is is a really really long match. I just don't see how it transcends the sport.

If you were right, I'd agree with you

This is incredible! 68 all in the 5th set.
Without officials, it would just be recess!

I can't imagine playing ANY sport for 10 hours straight. I'll be cheering for the winner, this is a time you want them to go on a deep run, just like Syracuse and their 6 OT game

I was watching this at like 11 AM when it was still 19-19 and around there, and I was pretty amazed at how long they had been playing.

This is simply incredible. Hopefully the match goes for a bit longer tomorrow (another hour or so) and ends with a storybook ending (great shot, a bare miss, etc...).
The Brewers will finish 90-72 and earn the #1 WC berth.

Carlos Gomez will have a 30/40 season (HR/SB) and win a 2nd Gold Glove en route to an All Star selection.

They've outscored most arena football teams.

And they've played more tennis this past 24 hours than I have my entire life combined.

And it's absolutely riveting to watch. Love it.

I have next to zero knowledge about tennis. Are they playing until one of them wins by 2?

John Isner is 6'9, weighs 245 pounds and has good feet. What the hell is he doing playing tennis?
(Talking about Tim Tebow) "If I would compare him to an active player, I would see him as a less agile, stronger Reggie Bush."
