Very reliable sources are indicating that former Marshfield Tigers girls hoopster Ellie Kummer is transferring to UW-Stevens Point to play women's basketball for head coach Shirley Egner and the Pointers.

Kummer, a varsity performer for the Tigers for 4 seasons and a starter for 3, hopes to re-kindle a college hoops career that began at Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee for the 2015-16 season. After leaving Stritch following her freshman year, Kummer attended UW-Green Bay for a year as a student only. She will have 3 seasons of playing eligibility remaining.

As a high school senior (2014-15), the 3-point sharp-shooting Kummer averaged 13 ppg, tied for the team lead in scoring for the season, and was named to the 2015 WVC all-conference 2nd team. Kummer went off for a season & career high 28 points on the strength of 5 treys in a Marshfield comeback win at Bay Port, 12/21/14 . In the 2015 WIAA playoffs, Kummer poured in 64 points in 3 games on the strength of 15 three-pointers, including 2 games in which she converted 6 treys each, including a sectional semi-final game vs then undefeated DC Everest (24-0) in which Kummer put Marshfield on her back during a furious 25-point 4th-quarter rally that saw the Tigers come up just short to the Evergreens 54-49.
