This guy simply amazes me with his ability to run after the catch. I know it is sacreligious to compare him to someone like Jerry Rice, but man it seems that nobody can tackle him one on one in the open field. He knows the angles to take in order to evade defenders so naturally, you'd think he had a protractor in his pocket. Also, it seems like when he gets the ball it always takes more than one guy to bring him down. This guy really deserves the Pro-Bowl nod this year, without him and Favre the Packers are seriously looking at a 1 or 2 win season tops.

yeah he's like steve smith but bigger so he can break more tackles. But I'm not taking anything away from Steve.

Steve Smith has world class speed, Donald Driver has no where near the speed Smith has. Driver depends on his route runnning and abillity to make a play with people trying to take his head off over the middle. He doesn't come close to Rice in terms of accomplishments or hands, but in his ability to run after the catch, I think it's a reasonable comparison.

I've always loved DD and if he doesn't get to the Pro Bowl this year I will lose some faith in voters. Before this year I always thought of him as good but better suited as a #2 WR. He definetely proved me wrong, and he's having one of the best seasons for a WR in the NFL this year. If Smith is so much faster than Driver why has no one caught DD in the Open field yet this year? I bet he has more long gains than Smith. Smith is faster, but it's closer than you think.
Ricky Rubio will be a Pamela Anderson sized bust.

The difference between most receivers in the league speedwise is less than we all think. What really is the difference between 4.3-4.5 40 without pads on?

He knows the angles to take in order to evade defenders so naturally, you'd think he had a protractor in his pocket. (From my original post)

Did you see the 68 yarder, Driver didn't so much outrun everyone as he weaved back and forth at just the right time to make them stumble and miss. Plus how many times is he wide open on a go route? Very seldomly. Driver never was a burner, that is why he was a world class high jumper and not a sprinter, but man that sucker is tough over the middle.

Any chance that Driver might make the NFC team for the Pro Bowl or do the voters still treat the voting like it's a dumb-downed popularity contest?

If you think NFC wise, there haven't been that many outstanding seasons by the WR position. I don't know any stats off the top of my head, but you haven't heard much about guys like Holt, Owens, Smith, or S. Moss this year. How many do they take at WR? 3?

I'm pretty sure its 4 wide recievers.

Torry Holt has had his name out there this year...Owens has but for obvious reasons...Smith ehhh, Delhomme's fault heh.

The only thing about donald i dont like is how he dances alll the time it dosent matter if its a 8 yard catch or a 25 he does it way to much and acts like its his first catch but other then that i think hes a good wide out

I hate when NFL players do that more then anyone, but for some reason it is different with DD. I have went to practices and he is doing the same thing. He is not a show-off he does that out of pure emotion. Unlike most players in the NFL he is a class act off the field and on the field. He is never getting into people faces and shows off.

Unlike most players? You smoking crack man?
What about Reggie Bush setting up a foundation for the city of N.O., before he had played a game for the team. Or Brees doing the same thing?

What about all the players who do work for the United Way?

Contrary to what you said, it is a few players who causes the issues, get the bad publicity: You know, T.O., Jeremy Shockey a couple years back, etc...
The Brewers will finish 90-72 and earn the #1 WC berth.

Carlos Gomez will have a 30/40 season (HR/SB) and win a 2nd Gold Glove en route to an All Star selection.

I agree with Paladium there are plenty of NFL'ers doing good out there but all you hear about on sportscenter and the news is what bengal got arrested this time or what TO has done recently, it takes a special story on ESPN to tell us about Warrick Dunn building houses, or Reggie Bush's foundation.

Yeah, he'd be the only one of that crop to get much attention this year for the right reasons. Even so, this year his media attention has waned due to the Rams obvious struggles the last half of the season.

As much as I'd like to see him getting into the Pro Bowl this year...and hey it could happen...but I could also see him getting beat out by rookie Marques Colston.

But hey...Donald is currenlty second in the NFC in yards and is tied for third for touchdowns. This could be the year.
