I made my picks for the week and I notice that Xavier is playing Kewaunee. Last week Xavier played St Mary's. I looked at their schedule and see they play Milwaukee Career & Tech Ed at the end of the year.

Given their objections to moving to the Bay maybe they prefer playing the weak sisters of the poor in order to win games.

Their actually d3 not d2. These schedules are made over summer and non conference games are contract based games of 2 or 4 years alternating home sites

They are Division 2 this year. They are in the same bracket as Notre Dame this year.

I didn't realize they were d2 until just now blade. You are right. The teams in that sectional are loaded. I would be shocked if there was a tougher grouping anywhere in the state.

I think Xavier has played kewaunee (d3) and St Mary's (d4) for a good number of years. It Probably goes back to the private school days. Xavier also played new London (d2) and appleton east and north (both d1). That's a difficult schedule for a team that is traditionally d3.

Waupaca is d2 and doesn't play nearly that level of competition. They did add gb preble this year though. That should be an interesting game.

Others in that sectional: Ashwaubenon, Kaukauna, Seymour, and West De Pere all are or were ranked in D2 at one time. ND and Pulaski are both in that sectional too and they are good teams.

Maybe the games are contracted 2 or 4 years at a time but can't you schedule tougher teams 2 or 4 years at a time? SMC is D4 with an enrollment that is about 1/3 of Xavier. Kewaunee and Milwaukee Career & Tech are about half the enrollment of Xavier.
