I thought it was a good rule abiding debate on the merit of posting fight video's.

I spoke to a St Paul MN. HS hockey coach at lunch today and asked his feelings on it.
He stated that he is a little leary of websites anyway and hates to hear his players talk about being written up but. Was honestly amazied that a website geared to HS sports would put a fight up on a team preview. He stated that he would be on the phone in a min after he watched it if it was his team.

I honestly really feel that it is not a big deal..if u are offended simply dont watch it..fighting is a part of the game..maybe not a part of the hs game but definetly a part of the game..posting a video of a kid fighting should be the least of someones worries.i dont understand the harm being done when he posted it

I agree, so why was it on a HS teams preview page ? Thats my only beef.

I am still trying to understand WHY he posted it to be honest.
If he wanted to SHOW a player, maybe something other than him fighting would do ?

I guess that's just the hockey way, to be honest. It's the only sport (other than boxing, wrestling, etc.) where fighting is reasonably tolerated. Probably didn't even think twice about it.

There was also a UW hockey brawl linked in a previous blog.

That is how Hockey is at the JR level and above I understand that. But this was a HIGH SCHOOL preview. All I would like is an explination why a face-off fight ( they just dropped the gloves and squared off) is needed on a HS teams preview and why all debate about it was deleted.

On a site promoting HS hockey and teams, looking for additional support from coaches. Is this seemingly promotion of hockey fighting in the best interest of this site?
