Just when I thought he would represent us so proudly, this happens!

I still love the guy though...

Yeah! And if he would have pulled a Dante Stallworth, then we would have re-named the state capital!

Seriously, drunk driving isn't a joke. Even if you are someone who admittedly downs 10 and gets behind the wheel.
Ricky Rubio will be a Pamela Anderson sized bust.

Owen Schmitt has got to realize that there are alot of people that are looking up to him. Alot of little kids probably look up to him and look how he repays them. What a nice role model.

they didn't put is BAC because it was probably .7 or so...if you put that in the paper...you are just bragging

and drunk driving ISN'T funny and not smart to do...but lets not forget that people have different tolerances and there are many other factors that can come into play...hell he could have blew a .0801 and he is still "legally drunk" but I know people who have run cross country meets and golfed while being well over the .08 and it wasn't a problem because some people can handle their alcohol...I don't like sticking up for anyone who has drank and drove...because I know I've done it and regret it afterwards...but in a situation like this where no one did get hurt and he admitted his mistake...there's no harm in having a little fun with the situation...

wow that was like a fricken lecture...oh well I'll still post it...

"Some people can handle their alcohol."

Well, Plaxico Burress thought he could handle his weapon without hurting anyone else. It was still illegal, and nobody stood up for him saying that he could handle a gun without hurting anybody else. Why? Because what he did was illegal.

I don't understand why nobody getting hurt makes it suddenly less illegal. He is given credit for not killing anybody? He can "handle his alcohol," so breaking the law and putting other people's lives on the line is less serious?

This guy is an NFL player. He can afford to call a taxi. Or take a bus. Or call a friend. Or call a coach. Or call a member of the organization. Or call a teammate. Or walk. He's a role model. There's no excuse for him to be breaking the law in this way.

Definite role model. I thought I heard he was up in Tony, WI for Jim Leonhard's Football Camp. Kids do look up to him and I'm sure they will hear about this.

just a quick question for you...

when you are driving down the road and you see a 55 MPH sign...do you drive 55 mph...or do you ever exceed it?
