christopherson had an off night partly due to souter being in his face on almost every shot......he played amazing defense.....also christopherson is going to have to bulk up a bit if he wants to succeed in the physical big east conference, but dont get me wrong the kid can play the game

Aquinas had a bad game seemed to be a case of nerves, St Cat played loose and played their game. If Aquinas could have relaxed and played their game it would have been a different outcome. St Cats deserves the gold ball as they earned it but Aquinas did not put up much of a fight. SC in my opinion should have guarded Souter just like the badgers in their loss, looking for someone else to step up and nobody did until it was too late, aquinas needed someone to step up and they did not get it. congrats to st cats and aquinas for great seasons.

i was wondering the whole game why st cats didnt try pounding it down low more, they did a lot but did aquinas ever stop haarsma?? good game by both teams though it was a shame that christopherson had an off night cause that was the first time ive seen him play

Unless Haarsma hits 15 3's today, Aquinas rolls easy.

This game hinged on three things in my mind.

First, coaching. Letsch got the job done again.

Secondly, star power. Haarsma, 24 points, and was a beast on the boards. Christopherson, 18 points, but a ton of missed shots and some rather mediocre defense (he didn't even try and bother Souter on his shot that made it 58-56).

Third, role players. St. Cat's guys were there and made plays all game (Souter, Thomas, Javar Lawson). Aquinas's guys only played well in spurts.

I forgot to comment on that. Scott wasn't guarding Souter on that shot, Luke Umberger was. The shot was an off balance, fad away runner. The Aquinas player probably figured it had no chance, but the kid made it.

i know scott is amazing on offense... but why did they have him guarding westrich, a kid who doesn't look to shot or penetrate at all??.... is it bad coaching no schnieder's part or is scott a bad defender?

i was just wondering

Yep exactly. Against St. Cats Christopherson guarded Souter at times when Umberger was out of the game.
