So what you're saying is three of the four teams in this field are getting booed?
It wouldn't be a horrible strategy
, and it's probably the only way they could even dream of winning. but you'd have to avoid getting blitzed early.
Elkhorn plays great team ball with the Umnus twins being crafty little guards...they do have some size, but I don't see it being very effective against Nicolet's length. Maybe Larson, Davey and the Umnus's hit some threes early and they slow the game way down? I don't know what the answer is.
Is it just me, or has LaX Central not been as sharp this year? Obviously Davis is having a great year, but there's not much in the way of great results outside of the MVC. I just don't think they have it, but if they can find it, they're gonna the ones to upset the apple cart. The talent is there.
Milwaukee Washington has the Big Three now, but I have some worries about depth beyond that. Johntae Martin, Jimmy Brown and Tre Valeriano are gonna have to be the X-factors if a State Title is to finally come back to MPS. I just don't see it, but i hope they at least make it fun.
Everybody knows about the Nicolet guys who weren't there last year, but Jamari Sibley is no joke either. Jarrett Henderson doesn't provide a ton of scoring but does provide athleticism and more insane length. 6'5" C.J. Hayes also provides length and finishes well off service from the Johnsons. Sonny Phinisee is a bit of an unsung hero in the backcourt as he alleviates ball-handling pressure from the Johnsons and hits his fair share of threes. They were good before the transfers, now it's just insane.
Nicolet over Elkhorn
Milwaukee Washington over LaX Central
Nicolet over Milwaukee Washington
*insert NPH eyeroll gif*
...but it's what's best for the family, right?
It would be a very good strategy. Once Nicolet gets a lead with Elkhorn sitting in a zone, don't be surprised to see Nicolet sit on the ball either. That's assuming they don't jump out to a 10-15 point lead in the first 5 minutes. I'm sort of expecting a game similar to the sectional final against Kaukauna, but maybe that is me hoping.
