Good showing so far by UW athletes

Other state athletes
Aaron Studt - Minnesota (Ripon) advanced to the finals of the shot put with a throw of 18.43 (60-05.75)
Steve Marcelle - Georgia Tech (Green Bay Preble) advanced to the finals of the shot also with a throw of 18.74 (61-05.75)
Matt Fisher- Minnesota (Green Bay East) failed to make finals in the high jump after clearing only 6-08.75

There may be more these are just the ones I knew off the top of my head.

Aaron Studt- Minnesota (Ripon) Bombs a throw in finals 19.27 (63-02.75) good for 5th place. 19.27 is his best toss ever outdoors and just 9 centimeters off his best ever indoor or outdoor.

Steve Marcelle- Georgia Tech (Green Bay Preble) came in 6th with a toss of 18.63 (61-01.50)

Not to bad of showing for the state of Wisconsin, two guys in the top 6 at Nationals. Congratulations to Aaron and Steve, and way to represent Wisconsin even at your respective schools.

Zach Beth- Wisconsin (Wilmot) ran a 1:48.45 in the semi-final however was DQ'd the ruling I'm not familiar with (5.2.b) so I'm not sure why. His time wouldn't have been good enough to qualify him for finals any way.

Other out of state UW athletes competing: Craig Miller won his heat in the 1500 prelims advancing him on, Jack Bolas finished 4th in his heat and unfortunately the pace was slow in his heat and they advance top 3 automatically and the next 3 fastest times, so Jack didn't move on. Nate Larkin finished last in his heat in the 110 HH running a 14.29 placing him 23rd overall with the top 18 moving on to the semis.
