If there was anyone more deserving than Coach Marquis Hines for High School Girl's Basketball Coach of the Year, please tell me about that person. This is truly a man of great faith in God and he exudes so much love for so many people as he walks the walk with the dear Lord daily. He has been an inspiration to many people, including myself, which is another story, and I am so happy for this man to be honored the way he deserves to be honored. He could of just as easy as said "NO" last season, but he took over a team from his mentor, a person he loved very much and took his team and through all the pain of life's agonies, he took all the emotions of a lot of people on his back and he called it a mission for "Coach Griffin". Everyone knows the story now, and what these girls have accomplished through all the pain they had to suffer but they were bound and determined to fulfill this state championship for Griff. Coach Hines, knew how difficult it would be, with all of
kids ups and downs, but he kept persevering through all the emotions, good games, bad games, good practices, bad practices and all of life's travails. He was able to do this because he believes in our dear Lord and Savior, and nothing compares to what he went through for all of us on that cross. Our dear Lord let Marquis know that Coach Griffin was in Heaven with HIM and all he had to to was get the girls to lay it all on the court and good things would happen for them. The spirit was working and so was divine providence and off they went to the state playoffs and to Madison to fulfill the mission they had dedicated to their fallen Coach and to his buddy Marquis who took on the task of mission leader. He is so deserving of this honor and a lot of his fans and supporters are thrilled for him, his family and "his girls". God bless you Coach Marquis Hines, your team of beautiful players, and all the supporters of Vincent High School girls basketball. Now it's Griff's turn to let his spirit flow to the boy's team who are also on a mission. Two state champs from the same school would be a spectacular thing to happen and don't be surprised if that is exactly what may happen.
May our dear Lord's PEACE be with you and yours always and forever.

Chalk one up for the good guys!
Talk about "do the right thing" and "play the right way"
You could write a book about this one.
Vincent wins because...yes they have talent but so did King. Common denominator...Coaching.
Marcus got those kids to play together and Cunningham let them run around and do whatever they wanted.

I have to ask was the "spirit" then not with other teams? Sounds like a good man. Lots of good men and women, some believers and some not, are fortunate enough to get great teams and do a good job with them too. Congrats.
