Sparta looked very tough. They don't have a star necessarily it seemed, but do have 8-10 girls that are all very athletic, pretty tall, and know how to play the game. All interchangeable pieces it seemed. They should be very good I believe.

I saw their scrimmage last Saturday and she is 6 feet. They struggled in the scrimmage, but I think it was because they have so many younger players that haven't experienced varsity speed and strength of play. They actually lost to Ithaca in the scrimmage, but I don't think that is necessarily an indicator as Ithaca does have a pretty decent team, plus Coach Board played it as a scrimmage trying different lineups, getting his team ready, and trying different things. Coach Donahue from Ithaca definetly played it as a regular season game, and rightfully so. I think it gave his team a big shot of confidence.

Either way I think RC has good talent, maybe not quite as much as in years past, but are fairly young and it may take time for them to reach their peak. Beating Waunakee is a good start to the season though.
