My congrats to Casey Barnes, JS Athlete of the year!! This student athlete is something special. I am sure that Coach Kiel will agree. [link=http://www.jsonline.com/sports/preps/49349012.html]http://www.jsonline.com/sports/preps/49349012.html[/link]

I don't think I've ever seen/heard of anyone lettering in 5 sports, and being as talented as him. Congrads

Wow how can you balance 3 sports in one season? Not only that but he's good in 'em. He deserves this.

Congratulations to him. Also wish him the best up at NMU! Hopefully he can help them get back on their feet. I think he'll like the new field turf up there.

This year NMU should have a senior QB, then Barnes should have some tough competition at the QB spot. A redshirted Frosh from IL who was 2-time All-State, and another Freshman who I know was quite an athlete from a small town in the U.P.

It's still a good move by NMU to get Barnes. Marquette's a real nice town and I hope he has a great experience up there.

The point, my smart friend, is it's not easy to play five sports all year round and have that type of grade point average. Conversely, it serves as an example to those who struggle/complain about keeping their grades up after only playing one sport.

I take it from your unnecessary comment, that you were the valedictorian of your graduating class

Casey plans on redshirting next year. Which is a good move because there is a pretty decent qb up there already. I know he will put in the work and develop. Their Offense suits Casey's strengths
