Love bringing in a reclamation project like Dragan Bender to fill out the front court.  I was a little worried with how our front court was playing out.  An injury to Brook would send Giannis to center for large stretches of games.  He provides some flexibility if an injury occurs.  Bender is generally a center, but has played both front court positions.  He can stretch the floor, pass and rebound pretty well.  He's not a very good defender and his shooting is streaky, but he's played his entire career in PHX while they've been one of the worst franchises during that stretch.  Put him into a better culture, spreading the floor and not asked to do too much and he could be quite useful.  The contract is 2 year, partially guaranteed for year 1 and non-guaranteed for year 2 which is tremendous value for a 5th overall pick coming off his rookie contract.  I wanted a contract of that capacity for our 15th roster spot because it gives us flexibility to waive him if massive injuries occur and we need to sign someone else or if a better buyout candidate comes around.

The Bucks roster is now set at 15 players with two 2-way players:
PG-Eric Bledsoe, George Hill
SG-Wes Matthews, Kyle Korver, Pat Connaughton, Donte Divincenzo
SF-Khris Middleton, Sterling Brown, Thanasis Antetokounmpo
PF-Giannis Antetokounmpo, Ersan Ilyasova, DJ Wilson
C-Brook Lopez, Robin Lopez, Dragan Bender
2-Way-Cam Reynolds, Frank Mason

I see the lineup to start the season as such:
Starters: Bledsoe, Matthews, Middleton, Giannis, Brook
Bench: Hill, Korver, Connaughton, Ersan, Robin
Backups: Divincenzo, Brown, Wilson
Inactives: Thansis, Dragan

The roster is incredibly well balanced and shifts for injuries at any position.  The one concern would be a long term injury to Bledsoe or Hill.  I think they'd bring up Frank Mason to fill a void and give Divincenzo some backup PG roles while primarily giving Khris and Giannis primary ballhandling roles when the one healthy PG is off the floor.

Bud is clearly leaning more towards veteran players this year which may come at the expense of Divincenzo and Wilson.  But if Wilson can get some run and proves himself worthy, Ersan could be jettisoned.  The Bucks have some wiggle room below the luxury tax line, I thought I saw something like $5.5M before the Bender signing, and likely in the range of $3.5-4M after the signing.  Without a roster spot, the Bucks can't make a deal like they did by taking back Jodie Meeks and getting two 2nd round picks like they did last year unless they waived Bender, but they could take back more money in a trade.  Say a team wants to get under the luxury tax, the Bucks could trade Ersan and his $7M contract and take back a $10M contract and get a 2nd round pick in addition.
