4/1: Davies (MIL) vs. Ro-ARK (CIN) (that's really the pronunciation? Awful.)
4/2: Chacin (MIL) vs. DeSclafani (CIN)
4/3: Peralta (MIL) vs. Castillo (CIN)

---

Brewers came out of the gates hot in game one grabbing an immediate 3-0 lead. The offense stalled from there and the Reds would eventually punch two across against Davies (5 IP, 4 H, 2 ER 4 BB, 6 K) in the fifth and then the tying run off reliever Alex Claudio in the sixth. Alex Wilson shut down the Reds for the next 1 2/3 innings and back-to-back two-out doubles by Yelich and Braun in the top of the ninth gave the Brewers the lead back. Hader, despite not having his best stuff, worked around a leadoff double to notch his third save.

Great to see Yelich & Braun come up clutch with 2 outs in the 9th tonight. And for Hader to rear down and end the game after a lead off double in the bottom of the 9th.

This team has been a lot of fun to watch and we are only in game 6 of 162.

It's early but...

Moose turning 2 is an adventure.
Peralta not being able to hit anywhere near his spots.
Arcia 0 fer
Thames swings at bad pitches and then takes dandy's right down the middle.

Would like to see a 8-2 game. 3 runs in the first and not able to tack on more vs Mr Roark, disappointing but the Cubs are worse.

He's apparently one of these weird clutch hitters who can't produce in any other situation. That said, all he needs to do is hit .220-.230 in this lineup. Shouldn't be that hard.

His agent should be showing him what a .200 hitting SS with 12 HR's and his defensive ability can expect on his next contract vs what a .280 hitting SS with 6 HR's and his defensive ability will make on his next contract.

Glad he hit a HR when he did last night but have the feeling that it was a "swing hard in case you hit it" and the ball ran into his bat. A long time ago (probably when he first came up) I made the comment that his swing was way too long to have any MLB success at the plate.  He has been better at times but he has not shown that he is able to maintain that improvement.

Before I forget (honestly not sure how long I'll be able to do daily recaps anyway), it was Arcia's previously referenced 3-run HR that gave the Brewers a 4-1 cushion and they'd hold on for a 4-3 lead as Hader worked around a lead-off walk in the ninth this time to notch his fourth save. Chacin with another good start, but unfortunately couldn't get out of the sixth. Guerra (with a 1/3 from Claudio) though, was able to bridge the gap with 2 1/3 innings, only conceding a HR to this pesky Suarez guy. I really believe Guerra is going to turn out to be the most important bullpen guy outside of Hader this year and to date he has shown to be such.

The thing with Peralta is when he's hitting his spots with the fastball (and has a generous umpire, which he did not have in his first outing this year) he can be electric.

Well, we saw that today to the tune of 8 IP,  2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 11 K (100 pitches) as the Brewers busted out the brooms in Cincinnati. Peralta even retired 20 in a row at one point.

Manny Pina singled (just one of two Brewers hits on the day) home Jesus Aguilar (who had walked and advanced to second on a balk) with two outs in the second for the game's only run.

Alex Wilson pitched the ninth and despite giving up a leadoff walk to Tucker Barnhart and a two-out single to Matt Kemp, he was able to get pesky Eugenio Suarez to ground out to Orlando Arcia for a force at second to pick up the save.

Peralta was great today. His first start he had no idea where he ball was going and Grandal was stabbing at everything.
