Who does everyone seeing as being apart of the 25 man playoff roster???

Stearns has done a wonderful job building the overall depth of this team, from all the changes made over the past couple years to all the contributors brought in over just the past two months. I was just thinking about how players 26-35+ have made such a significant impact in the Brewers success this past month; now it's time to have to trim it back down to 25.

Outfield
Braun
Yelich
Cain
Granderson
Santana

Infield
Aguilar
Shaw
Moustakas
Arcia
Schoop
Perez

Catcher
Kratz
Pina

Pitcher
Chacin
Miley
Gonzalez

Jeffress
Hader
Knebel
Soria
Cedeno
Burnes
Barnes
Jennings
Woodruff

I have no idea what the pitcher / positional split should be... With the Brewer's starters on such a short leashes, there is a need for enough arms in the bullpen, but also enough bats to pinch hit for the pitcher's spot. Burnes / Woodruff are valuable for bridging the gap between starter and true relievers, but do you need both of them? Are there going to be enough low pressure situations to warrant having Barnes / Jennings? If one or two less pitchers are included I think Broxton is the next positional player to be included.

I think your list is almost dead on.  I'm thinking Zach Davies will be on the roster, replacing either Barnes or Jennings.

Pretty sure the Brewers aren't high right now on Chase Anderson, but I just have a feeling he'll be on the roster. Either him or Davies takes Granderson or Santana's place on your 25 man roster, onpackerland. I just don't see the Brewers carrying only 3 starting pitchers. If they are kept on short leashes, then MAYBE they can pitch on 3 days rest. We'll see though.

I would be SHOCKED if Santana isn't on the NLDS roster!!! He is arguably the #1 right handed pinch hitting option for the Brewers right now. (Some might argue Perez instead.)

For a team that uses analytics as much as the Brewers I would think Peralta would be in play if they play the Rockies. 3 hits, 2 runs 21 strikeouts in 11 innings against them.

I agree for the most part, but also see either Davies or Anderson on the roster and Jacob Barnes is off.  Woodruff is a valuable piece of the pen right now as he has shown the ability to come into games and get outs.  He is just more reliable than Barnes.

Only going with 3 starters is a huge chance to take.  With his success against the Rockies, Peralta would make a lot of sense that is for sure.

If they haven't trusted Anderson to pitch the last week and a half, they won't trust him to pitch in the NLDS. As for Peralta, they basically shut him down several weeks ago, and don't see them suddenly putting him out there either.

Didn't Peralta just throw three or four innings the final week of the season against the Cardinals when the Brewers started Jennings?

I think that the Brewers will go with 13 pitchers and 12 position players on the NLDS roster.  One thing to remember is that if you have a game like the Rockies and Cubs last night and burn through pitchers, you cannot swap them out for new players like you can in the regular season.  Your roster is locked for the entire series.  In September the Brewers used 12 different pitchers to pitch in relief and averaged over 5 innings from the bullpen per game.  I think you need four starters especially with the potential for crazy games in the altitude of Colorado.  My roster would be:

Reserves:  Pina, Perez, Schoop, Granderson
Starters: Kratz, Aguilar, Shaw, Arcia, Moustakas, Braun, Cain, Yelich
Starting Pitchers:  Gonzalez, Miley, Chacin, Davies
Bullpen:  Hader, Jennings, Cedeno, Knebel, Jeffress, Burnes, Soria, Woodruff, Williams
If you want to drink all day, you have to start in the morning.

I agree with pretty much all of this, you have to go with 13 pitchers if you're looking at two potential games in Colorado.  Could you see them having Peralta on the roster instead of Williams?  That would be the only thing different I could possibly see.

He pitched 3 2/3 against St. Louis on the 24th. It was one of two appearances after August 29th. His ERA in July was 5.47, his ERA in August was 5.81. He walked 30 guys in 51 July & August innings. I don't see them putting him on the postseason roster after all that.

I just like Williams more because he is used to coming out of the bullpen.  Peralta would be fine.  The one thing I don't like to see with young pitchers who have been starters in the minors, is seeing them pitch on back to back days.  I worry about them doing something they aren't used to doing and overthrowing when they are fatigued.  That applies to Burnes as well, don't like it when they use him on back to back days.
