Friday night's 7-0 thumping of the Mets in New York was arguably the Brewers' best-played game of the season. Kyle Lohse went 8 innings, giving up only 2 hits while striking out 8. The Crew's #2, 3 & 5 hitters (Parra, Braun & Ramirez) combined to go 8 for 12 at the plate with 2 doubles, 3 homeruns and 6 rbi's.

That kind of formula will win a team a lot of games. []

Trailing 2-0, with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 4th inning, Brewers' hurler Matt Garza grooves a waist-high fastball to the Mets' #9 hitter, Will Flores, with predictable results. Mets lead 6-0. [huh] []

Edit: Still in the 4th inning, Brewers down 11-0, following a 3-run homer allowed by reliever Brandon Kintzler ...

The Great Garza does it again. Still on pace to win 8-9 games this year.
Counsel should grab Garza by that stupid goatee(or whatever it is) and just rip it off.
It probably wouldn't help him pitch any better, but he wouldn't look like such a dufus.

Both pitchers batting 8th? Has that ever happened before?

Happened earlier this year in a Cubs - Rockies game which was the 1st time since 2008. At that time it had only happened 12 times before. Source
