Wasnt one of Brets main reasons for leaving for ARK was that he was losing to many assistants and he could pay them more in the SEC?

Well after 1 season, his DC at ARK left for the head job at FAU. FAU is hardly a great job... maybe people just dont like working for Bret.

And now it is revealed that Chris Ash took a 30k pay cut to go work at OSU. Money isn't everything.

most coaches want to become head coaches and will take offers even at a lower school to be a head coach. Coaches by nature are controlling individuals. besides, he is going to get a 5 year deal vs maybe a 2 year deal at Arkansas.

FAU is not a bad job as they have only been playing football since 2001 as the legendary Howard Schnellenberger was recruited to build the program from scratch , any assistant would love such an opportunity to not only become head coach but also to have HB as a mentor .

No matter how you spin it, Partridge stepping up as a head coach is a move in the right direction. Not only did FAU take a step in the right direction in 2013 after being terrible for the past few seasons, but Partridge is a South Florida native. He's returning home and taking his first head coaching gig.

I suppose one could argue that Ash taking a pay cut is contradictory to what Bielema has alluded to in the past. It is difficult to turn down a job coaching under Urban Meyer and Ohio State, though. Several of Meyer's assistants have gone on to hold head coaching positions. Even outside of Meyer, that program has churned out some head coaches that were formerly assistants.

So how are you going to spin this news? Bert loses another assistant. This time to PURDUE.

@coachingsearch: Per source, expect #Arkansas corners coach Taver Johnson to accept the position at #Purdue this evening.

Easy, he isn't one of Brett's "guys"

Wow, this guy was at O$U, made a "Step up" to the SEC, then to PURDUE. All lateral position moves!

It has nothing to do with being "brets guy" By the way who are Brets guys?

The reality is he lost another coach. He got a guy to come to ark and the guy left for a powerhouse Purdue...oh I get it

He's not one of "Brets Guys" because he was already on staff when Bret got there.
And I am sure Bret knew he would be gone after a year as many articles when Bret started said he only kept him on for "continuity" with the players.

Of all the coaches that have left so far, I think this is the least surprising...but it is still fun to watch Bret lose his assistants.

Chris Hauser, Director of Recruiting. What will be Bert's reason for this one?

Hillarious, all these guys left with Bret from UW and after a year are gone. Me wonder if Bret sold them a lie.
